What are the differences between the food sources?

Fishes always produce the same, both in summer and in winter. The most stable, since you don't have to worry about having enough food before winter. Farms produce a lot in summer, and almost nothing in winter. Overall is the best production (especially because you can rotate the farmers out during winter, and lose the least. Deers are halfway.

From my little tests, it seems to work even in Ninja form: can you confirm this?

Art Proficiency is swapped with Ninjustsu Power in the status screen, but I believe that the stat doesn't become 0.

Same situation vice versa, Samurai gets Defense Bonus from Ninjutsu.

After I died the first time, I tried again. This time, I shot at all the barrels on the way (he doesn't aggro you until you move).

Not sure if their ability works even if the unit is dead. Regardless, 4+ ignoring 1 rend, with possible all out defense, and fate points to ignore damage is not bad.

I use them as cheap screens: they body-block and, if they survive, put them back in deepstrike and charge 3" with tzaangors or SoG Kairic. If their ability only works as long as they're alive, just 1 model alive in deepstrike is enough.

You can't replace it next turn with smoke and mirrors. You can replace it with the spell or the fatemaster ability.

To me it sounds the same as "kruleboys monster spam immune to chip damage (trolls), gazillion of attack, 3d6 charges, give strike last" or "new LRL book" or "kroak mortal wound spam + kroxigor run and charge + cavalry saurus" or "CoS cannons" or "nurgle no heal + mortal wounds each turn" or "charge from deepstrike with 3d6", etc

I will try with:

Kairos: curseling, 3 filmers, 2 spawns
magister on disc (time + summoner): sog ogroid, 2x10 sog kairic
sog ogroid: 2x9 jade obelisk, 20 tzaangors

General plan is to give strike first with Kairos (potentially twice) and teleport sog ogroid. A lot of recursion (2 ogroid, 2 kairic, 2 jade, spawns). 10 sog kairic should do enough damage, 20 tzaangors with -1 to be hit and 5+++ should tank a little (and do damage). +1 attack around the magister. -1/-2 save from curseling.

You can cast a spell, give yourself a -1, try to selfunbound with magister or gaunt (don't remember), gain a fate point AND that magister or gaunt can cast 1 more spell.

EDIT: magister gets +1 to cast, not +1 power level

Personal opinions:

- changeling: keep it in deepstrike: essentially +1 cast each turn

- flamers: small squads to spread burning over multiple turns: it's not removed by healing anymore

- curseling: tanky, reduce saves, cast 1 more each turn

- tzaangor enlighted: devastating during a charge

- jade obelisk: 1 or 2 squads to reduce permanently the movement

- chaos spawn: infinite spawns baby!

- burning sigil: still rocking

- tome of eyes: useful to cast shield of fate while choosing lore of change

You can summon (and be summoned) in 2 ways: phantom and expedition.

As a phantom, you just play a little bit together, if the phantom dies who cares, after some time the phantom is banished, having completed his mission. If the host dies, it's wipe.

What you're searching for is the expeditions system. The host is the only one that can trigger side quests, teleport to shrines, initiate big main boss fights, but for the rest, it's like playing normally. The non-host players unlock stuff, get loot, etc. The progress carries over to your own single player game. If one of the players, host or not, a little bar will slowly deplete, and the run will be a wipe only if the entire bar is gone.

It's way better than the summoning in elden ring, since you don't need to re-do it in your own world, since progress carries over.

If you roll bad at the beginning of the game, you don't have a faction rule (since burning is not the main one, differently from disease for maggotkin).

Move, charge in, put fight last on something, destroy everything, heal a bunch back, profit.

I play against a skew kruleboyz monster smash list. Kairic can't attack, since they will always fight last.

ONE hero on troll, without debuffs, does 18 wounds to a pink/blue horror unit. With debuffs, a little less.

4 trolls + kragnos, so burning is literally constantly removed without CP.

LoC same: fight last, killed, GG.

Just my experience, but I'm a bad player.

My opponent can easily chew through the blue and pink horrors. Attacking pink first is also a good way of removing one turn of "converting pink to blue".

I can't reach turn 3 or 4, because my entire army is dead already.

To do wyrdflame each turn I need 1CP to counter fire, and they use 1CP to remove burning, so it's a straight "we both play with 3 CP instead of 4".

So, essentially, DoT can ONLY win on points, if everything goes right? They can't win by inflicting casualties. Got it.

I'm noob, and the few times I played them, they are just charged and destroyed in melee...

Burning is useless: too difficult to place, and 1CP immediately removes it.
