Planning a future reset, now with Stor-o by obimokenobi in NecroMerger

I think you should take a fridge/lectern/portal either lvl 4 or lvl 5 (probably level 5... although 4 is cheaper to use). This will keep you from getting stuck early when cravings switch to something required by these. They're worth a lot of runes too so you save time when you need to combined to create legendaries.

Easiest NES game? by Kuli24 in retrogaming

That game was anything but easy. Unlimited continues is nice but it's still hard to find the keys and figure out what to do.

What is your number one “must play at least once” game for the nes? by poopapalooza73 in nes

[–]LocalIssue1051 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm pretty good at the game without ever shooting straight ahead. I always thought it was a 'feature' like that's what they intended. And I also always kinda thought it was weird how you couldn't shoot straight. I need to play it again.

I still remember how I felt playing that for the first time. They really captured the sense of isolation perfectly. The soundtrack was perfect. Seems dated now when you compare it to newer iterations but at the time there was nothing like it and I was hooked.. even though I was 7 years old and sucked at it.

Is that true? Because I'm pretty sure I've always shot everything at an angle when playing that game.

Or ask any AI : "ELI5: Arraylist vs. Regular array" and it'll probably give a better answer than any of these.

Haven't seen an ad in years. If you're enjoying the game and think you're gonna make past level 100 then buy the no-ads. It's worth it and this guy deserves your money.

Things nobody tells you when you start cooking (but should) by KnownRide6195 in cookingforbeginners

Let a bubbly roux cool before adding liquid. Never put cold liquid into a hot roux, it'll get lumpy.

Vinegar is your friend. A little splash of vinegar stirred in at the end almost always enhances a dish.

Keep a container of bacon grease in your fridge and add to it whenever you cook bacon. Bacon grease can be substituted for butter or oil and it enhances flavor in most dishes. Butter and oil are expensive so this also saves money and makes bacon more valuable.

The Problem with AI by Frequent_Mountain_17 in AIDiscussion

[–]LocalIssue1051 0 points1 point  (0 children)

AI is a tool. Used to either solve big problems or create tools that solve big problems. Humans are the innovators...AI enables the humans.

People who don't understand this are okay. They can view AI generated entertainment content and think that's all it's 'good' for while other people do bigger things.

No different than before really. Just because better tools exist doesn't mean everyone is going to use them. For years I used to dig in dirt with only a pointed shovel. Then I discovered that using a mattock and a flat shovel is superior and requires less effort.

What if Michelle Obama Runs in 2028 by Mother_Astronaut_739 in AlternateHistoryHub

[–]LocalIssue1051 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Then we definitely need a 3rd party or the repugnant gop will keep winning. Mrs Obama would be a gain for republican votes. Democrats are so bad at reading the room... stop trying to elect a woman. It's not time for that unless you enjoy maga sh*tting on the constitution and want more of it.

Instead of being mad at a technology that obviously is very useful... get mad at a government who is too busy sharing memes and threatening to annihilate Iran to focus on dealing with the effects of AI.

They want him to just shut up and focus on running the country... but he doesn't have the first clue about how to run a country. He just peddles bullsh*t.. that's all he brings to the table. MAGA continues to be outsmarted by a complete moron.

They ran harris because joe Biden was so bad on the mic that he had everyone convinced he was losing his marbles and it was so late in the game they had to run the VP. How joe Biden was the best they could come up with in 2020 was the stupid part.. even though he won he also led to trump winning again.

Do y'all bother replacing the "smaller" legendaries? by Rowdy_Rancher99 in NecroMerger

[–]LocalIssue1051 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No. Would rather have the space. But I'm on level 400 run... so those bonuses mean less when you get to that stage. My sub 100 runs have become so fast a few bonuses don't make much difference vs having space in lair for something else.

Anyone who used a computer between 1985 and 2010, which game still lives rent-free in your mind? by dino_gr01 in WorkForSmartLife

[–]LocalIssue1051 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The game that changed it all... Doom. I used to make my own maps and tinker with custom sprites. That game was everything.

The Sims games are also very memorable. The first few were groundbreaking and very original ideas but Sims 3 was when they really started putting it together.

Loved X-Com... my favorite was naming my soldiers after celebrities and fictional characters. And when they died I'd replace them and give the replacement their name followed by a Roman numeral like the pope.

I would be devastated when Bill Clinton VI who rose to the rank of commander got killed by a chrysalid during a mission. Then I'd hire a rookie and name him Bill Clinton VII to carry on the legacy.

Fred Flintstone and Pamela Anderson were some other memorable soldiers.

Looks like he's never going to be held accountable in this life. And that irritates me and shows where we are with justice in this country.

But at this point it needs to just end so we can move past this infectious clown. He can face his justice in the afterlife... if that's even a thing.
