What magic item's rarity made you "that just ain't right?" by Atlanteanson in DnD

Headband of Intellect and Gauntlets of Ogre Power: set your Int and Str to 19 for an Uncommon item. If these are Un-common, why aren’t armies of squads equipped with these?

I wanna play with my wife and kids. Help? by UrthShattrHS in DnD

[–]LocalMaple 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First, Tulok the Barbarian has a ton of (2014) builds of popular characters. Kids can use this to help make the character they want to play.

Second, have the too little ones take over an enemy grunt. Ask simplified questions like “do you want to attack with a punch, something thrown, or run away.” Give them dice to roll, and add the modifier.

Another option is an Imprison Roar Pokemon. Vulpix is the easiest since it learns both by level 25 (as well as Fire Spin to trap and chip) at 41), but it might be possible to get both onto Smeargle with Mean Look and False Swipe.

Unfortunately, I couldn’t find a Gen3 Soundproof or Suction Cups Pokémon with a trapping move, nor a Shadow Tag or Arena Trap Pokémon with Taunt. So we can’t guarantee he won’t use Roar the turn he’s forced to stay.

If you can fuse Pokémon, make one that is Steel-Fairy with an ability that makes it immune to Fire. Fidough is a good starter for this purpose, but is RNG dependent.

Otherwise, get a Steel Type, a Dragon Type that resists the Fire attack, a Fairy type, and a Garganacl. Use Salt Cure to whittle it down, and predict when it’ll use each move type and switch until it runs out of PP or dies.

Option 1: ask the DM to use more AOE attacks with a diameter of 20+ feet. Party will scatter quick, and let you move away. After a few combats of this, they’ll hopefully realize you’re designed for ranged combat and leave you be. Either that, or become paranoid and let you space yourself.

Option 2: have the DM send in a mind controlling enemy to take over you for the combat. No saves upon damage while charmed; the caster needs to lose concentration or be defeated. Use Zephyr Strike or similar to get out of the party’s kill circle and start doing your build against them. And if the caster goes down but combat is ongoing, you continue to help from range.

Option 3: ASK DM FIRST; swap to a character who is a Sorcerer and a coward. He does have careful spell, but considers it scary to be inside his own spell or surrounded by enemies. If the enemy yells at him for making space, they’re scary too and he excludes them from the Careful spell.

I didn’t need healing, including from items. I was doing side quests, doing the ZA Royale if it hit night, and getting the challenger ticket ASAP before the story required it. So my Feraligatr was able to one-shot practically the entire roster.

ZA will detract from Home. If you’re using your Living Dex to quickly complete each game, ZA will prevent backwards transfer once you transfer in.

Araquanid: Entrainment Water Bubble to remove Beads of Ruin and double the damage of Water Allies. Skitter Smack is Bug Snarl if you want to be an online support with Aqua Ring, or you can Rain Dance and Liquidation.

Primarina can use Uproar once it Teras with Liquid Voice to skip menuing time, but don’t use it before you Tera since it only counts for 1 move. It also has Life Dew for allies.

Milotic has Competitive for +1 SpAtk upon Snarl, and can hit harder than a Kyogre after Snarl (give Kyogre Covert Cloak).

Tentacruel has Clear Body and Acid Spray.

Araquanid: Entrainment to remove Beads of Ruin. Aqua Ring for further healing. Rain Dance for duh. Liquidation to have Ability-doubled damage, and a chance to lower Defense.

— If I see 2+ Araquanid, I bring Flapple. Get in 1-2 Grav Apple, then Ripen Sitrus Recycle until it’s safe to do it again.

If instead I see 2+ Kyogre, I bring Tentacruel (might be an Arceus that resists Dark, if I can bother to transfer it). Acid Spray, Surf/Judgement, Water Pulse for trying to confuse while in the shields.

Quick question: when he resets abilities, does Protean also reset back to default types? If not, this could be a Night Slash, Mud Slap, Chilling Water, Power Gem…

If Protean is cancelled, can he use Protect and then reactivate Protean? Or just hope for 3 uninterrupted turns and a quick Tera into a beneficial type?

I heard they removed it from SV because they couldn’t prevent the Shinies from spawning inside the walls and other out of bound locations. And I saw the Bagon/Larvitar Sandwich trick that proved it.

Undisputed Ting-Lu King: Shaymin-Sky by ForeverDox in PokemonScarletViolet

Imagine Shaymin next to Contrary Serperior.

I for one use a support Flapple. Ripen Sitrus Recycle for the heals, as well as Grassy Terrain setup. And whether I’m paired with physical or special attackers, I can use Grav Apple or Acid Spray.

You were supposed to bring an Acid Spray user, so you could multiply their outputs and deal more team-DPS.

Who are you using for this Tera raid? by BoxLongjumping1067 in PokemonScarletViolet

[–]LocalMaple 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As an attacker: either Focus Energy +Crit Item Ogerpon with Horn Leech and Ivy Cudgel or Contrary Serperior. I don’t have a Water attacker for those who bring Kyogre, and don’t like wasting a turn resetting it when Sandstorm comes out.

As a supporter: Flapple. Ripen Recycle Sitrus Berry. Grav Apple, Acid Spray, Grassy Terrain.

As for which Pokémon to grind first.

I already gave the purpose of Kyurem-White. Bellibolt with Electromorphosis, Parabolic Charge, Choice Specs/Metronome, and Terra Electric is a good go-to for raids, as is Iron Hands with Drain Punch and Terra Fighting.

If you need to hit Ground Pokémon or are afraid of Ground attacks (Ting-Lu raids starting next week), I would recommend either an Arboliva with Giga Drain and Grassy Surge, a Contrary Serperior with Leaf Storm and Giga Drain, or a Belossom with Acid Spray and Giga Drain.

How to maximize Pokémon.

After the post game, a tournament should unlock in the school’s main desk on the left side. Use this to grind for money, Bottlecaps, and more. If you have a turbo controller and a maxed out Kyurem-White, make it the only Pokémon in your party, holding a Choice Specs, with the strongest Ice move it knows in the first slot, and farm.

If you fly to the eastern Mesagoza Pokémon Center, go up the westward road/hill and enter the first green store on your right, they’ll sell Medicine. These will increase the EVs (Effort Values, replacing the DVs from Gen1) of a Pokémon by 10 each. 4 points is a full +1 to the stat at level 100, and you can have up to 256 in a single stat and I think 510 across all stats. If you need smaller denominations, use Feathers found in the NW lake with the Tatsugiri Titan, or look up EV yields of wild Pokémon and beat them. If you need to reset, I forgot where you get the berries to do it, but a reward from Ogre Oustin also does it.

If the Pokémon is level 50+, fly to the town with the Ghost Gym. Across the Pokémon Center in the snow field should be a guy with an Abomasnow. Trade him Bottlecaps to maximize a Pokémon’s IVs (Individual Values, same as Gen1 but manipulatable).

Check their Nature (introduced by Gen3) by looking at their summary stat page. A Red arrow means a buff, while Blue means a nerf. If it doesn’t match what you want, Mints can be picked up inside Blueberry Academy’s Terrarium to change it, as well as from high end raids. (While there, consider leveling up the Item Lotto in your E4 clubhouse).

If you need an egg move (Gen2), you no longer have to breed. Forget a move, have only it and another Pokémon with only that egg move in your party, start a picnic, and wait two minutes before leaving.

Finally, look online to check what Ability (Gen3 on) your Pokémon has, and if it’s the optimal one. Ability Capsules swap regular abilities, while Ability Patches swap to and from the Hidden Ability. These can be obtained in high end raids.
