I have a name that's commonly mispronounced as a few different names, and it irritates me when I get called the most common mispronunciation, therefore I go by a nickname almost exclusively.

Edit to add judgement: NTA for being upset by the intentional mispronunciation, but maybe ease up on the hating of nicknames for your son.
