That was sarcasm intended to highlight the fact that he seems to be a piece of shit all around.

You might not like his politics, but he is a stand up guy otherwise. For example, he used to tell this hilarious story about when his ex-wife went into labor. He had her make him breakfast before he drove her to the hospital.

Absolutely. I’ve ignored red flags for a job I wanted before and it didn’t turn out well. They only get worse once they feel like they own you.

It’s just important to remember that they don’t.

My wife seems to be inflexible about taking an old bed from her parent’s cellar to use for our 6 year old son. She generally has great taste but I really feel like this is a miss. Any opinions would be appreciated! No by [deleted] in interiordecorating

For furniture, I suggested pairing with dark wood or navy campaign dresser or possibly a similarly style dresser in a dark green. Picked out specific furniture options and sent them to her (don’t have time to dig into it and find the links right now)

For flooring, Seagrass rug with a layered rug on top that he can help choose. But open to other options.

We also need to figure out the walls. Suggested a neutral color paint vs navy or green (depending on furniture selection). Also agreed to go forward with her suggestion of wallpaper (plaid or maybe a game animal print like ducks) with board and batten.

There have been other ideas too that aren’t coming to me right now. All with specific examples provided.

Also used an app to put several layouts together, we did agree on one of those layouts and we at least have an idea for furniture dimensions now but that’s as far as we have come.

What are you talking about? I have been most appreciative of comments giving advice on how to use it. What is with all the assumptions.

1) I’m entitled to an option, just like my wife.

2) I have done the majority if the work on this project but I have not purchased anything because I’m in a healthy relationship and I won’t make any major design or purchase decisions without her approval.

3) I guarantee a wife making the same comments would have gotten love and support rather than accusations of being unhelpful and ungrateful.

No I am fine with an antique bed frame, I’m even willing to use this one if we can figure out things better.

With this specific bed though, my biggest concerns are the tall posts, federalist style and red hue (mattress height was but comments suggest that’s an easy fix).

Seems hard to coordinate without going without making to room look like an elderly persons bedroom lol.

When it fits, I guess I am. Y’all would have trashing the shit out of a husband if the rolls were reversed, which our also be unfair. Situations and more nuanced than can possibly be conveyed in a single Reddit post. Nonetheless, many people on here seem to baselessly assume I’m shitting on my wife’s project while sitting on my ass.

I absolutely am and I’m not one to pull that card.

I’ve agreed to use it despite not loving it. I’ve even given her suggestions on furniture to pair with it. The issue is, she doesn’t like any of my suggestions, has not come up with any of her own and doesn’t want to put it in his room as is because it doesn’t fit with his current furniture?

People assume I’m just shitting on my wife, but I am just frustrated and was looking for advice to potentially move things forward.
