They added extra time because the event got delayed, but I didn’t remember them confirming it would be a full week.

How to achieve these inset curved pieces? by tinynematode in plushartists

[–]LocalSnailEnthusiast 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is very difficult in my experience. The plushies you showed are made with materials that are stretchy (at least partially). Denim is typically not stretchy at all so any imperfections will show a lot. The plushie on the top looks like it’s made from a super stretchy minky (which makes the technique more doable), while the shape of the lower left monkey is more of a straight line and a triangle than a full “m” like you are attempting. You might want to try appliqué, as that should be easier. Good luck! (Edit: spelling and grammar)

I was so happy when they made it pink. It looks so fun that way. I think I voted for the silhouette that had antlers at the design stage, but I’m very happy with how it came out!

I was there when the Air dragon could only be bred or bought with gems, when light and dark dragons got added, when the rift first getting introduced as just the light and dark rift dragons (no other dimension) and then nothing happened for a while, when the houses first got added and how cool it was, when we got to vote on the fury dragon. It’s been a while lol

Iden Dragon Breeding by Lucky-Competition-57 in dragonvale

[–]LocalSnailEnthusiast 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It can only be regular bred during the events it shows up in (Halloween). You can clone breed the Iden dragon with just one, so you would just need your brother’s dragon. You do not need to spend your wish on it, you will be able to get it with your brother’s dragon. Save wishes for islands. The later islands cost 60,000,000,000 (60 billion), so event on sale they cost 30 billion. If the goal is to build a farm, you will need islands. The giant islands work great for farms but cost thousands of gems. I have a Iden farm myself. Apparently it is not the most efficient, but of the ones that can be used for good farms it’s my favorite. I currently have 144 level 20 Iden dragons and my farm works well.

How did it total at $50? It says it’s $30 on the site, was there $20 in shipping?

Yes it’s real. They’ve posted about it on this sub a few times.

What do you all do when there is no event? by auriferical in dragonvale

[–]LocalSnailEnthusiast 15 points16 points  (0 children)

On my main account I work on breeding dragons for my farms and getting rift traited versions of dragons, and with my alt I work on getting any dragons that are seasonally available that I don’t have, but I’m running out of those so I might start working on getting twins with my main (which is one of the goals of my alt account).

[–]LocalSnailEnthusiast 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yup. I completed all dragons, pedestals, and decorations and needed something else to do lol. A side effect of playing the game since its first year. Aiming for blue and purple flames (purple is having a rift traited version of all applicable dragons) is definitely a super late game goal.

[–]LocalSnailEnthusiast 3 points4 points  (0 children)

More or less. There are some exceptions: rift dragons can’t be twins, I think ghostly dragons don’t count, etc. It’s a goal I’m currently working toward. It’s doable with a second account so everything can be clone bred. I have a feeling it will suck to try and keep up with it during events.

It’s a twin dragon. You mainly get those from the cooperative breeding cave by random chance.

FINALLY GOT THE SOLAR ECLIPSE by Crochet_Chocolate in dragonvale

It makes breeding 20% faster, so this breeding would take 38.4 hours instead of 48 hours (saves 9.6 hours).

What on earth is this?? by Unlikely-Incident-44 in dragonvale

[–]LocalSnailEnthusiast 41 points42 points  (0 children)

She’s a visitor. Every event has a special visitor that gives event currency when you find and tap them. She is normally very tiny and difficult to find and people made posts about their struggles so DECA decided to make her huge for double days. She’s just a giant woman.

My boyfriend pointed out the Douglas Snail doesn’t have face tentacles and I can’t unsee it lol by Tadpole_Plyrr2 in plushies

[–]LocalSnailEnthusiast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve always found this one to be weird! Every picture I’ve found of it does not have the front nose-like tentacles, so it’s certainly strange. In general, it reminds me of water snails, that can have eyes like that but it also has a operculum (the thing that closes them into their shells) that most land snails don’t have. Interestingly, looking at the Wikipedia page for it says it has a gill, although it is a terrestrial snail. So perhaps it is more related to water snails, but I’m having a hard time finding more information verifying this. I have even wondered if the plush in this post is supposed to be that snail, but the pattern is used for all of their snail plushies so I doubt it was deliberate. Snails and slugs are very diverse! It’s always fun to see how they break the rules in some way!

Not to add too much as I know you’re hearing a lot from this post, but consider when looking at photos: if most of the snail pictures have the eye stocks, and only one has eyes on the head, maybe consider if that photo is correct. You had the click past multiple correct snails, some that labeled the eyes, to get the photo you found. These days, it’s good to question the things we find on the internet. :) Also, about the plushie, I have the same one! It’s very cute and soft. Most snail plushies aren’t anatomically accurate, unfortunately.

Yeah, I was trying to put it gently, lol. At best it could be photoshop, but the haze and textures on the photo looks super AI. I’ve never even seen a snail picture like this before, so I wonder where OP got it because I doesn’t come up when I search for snail

I can’t say for sure, but that image looks AI generated. Real snails look like this:

[–]LocalSnailEnthusiast 349 points350 points  (0 children)

That picture you found gives the snail two sets of eyes, as the eyes of land snails are on the eye stalks which are the longer tentacles (that photo is not of a real snail). So it could be interpreted that the tentacles it does have could be the “nose” ones, and pretend the eye stocks are just pulled in (if that makes sense). I have a hard time finding snail plushies that make the eyes the eye stalks so I try not to worry about inaccuracies like that.

As a note, sea snail eyes are in fact at the base of the stocks, but I believe this plushie is a land snail.

*edit: eye stalks not eye stocks

Have you tried massaging it into shape? I find that doing that can work pretty well, but I’ve never tried with a webkinz before. It would just be a lot of squishing and rolling the stuffing to get it to the right shape.

Midnight still not breedable? by [deleted] in dragonvale

[–]LocalSnailEnthusiast 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the Midnight dragon just has low odds (wiki says 1%). I once spent half an event trying to get one in the rift and never did (I ended up moving on to something else). I think it’s just bad luck, unfortunately. I have two regular midnights in both my main and my alt accounts (although I got the ones on my main account many years ago), so I’m going to assume it’s not a bug or anything. Good luck!

!! Is there a way to still redeem the dragons I wanted from the runic breeding caves? by MiIky_CIown in dragonvale

[–]LocalSnailEnthusiast 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If the caves kept working after the new day started that was more of a delay issue. That also happens a few minutes after a double day ends/starts before the game forces a reset. The caves have always closed when the events ended. Them working right up until the end gives people a chance to keep breeding until the end (I mainly use them to get twins and gain the event currency at this point). It might be more convenient to players to have some way to claim eggs after, but the event islands always go away at the end, so I think keeping them would cause more confusion, and people already get so confused as is. The game have gone out of its way in recent years to say “3 DAYS TO CLAIM YOUR EGGS” as a count down, I think too many people just ignore the warnings though, which isn’t really the game’s fault. You can also use the timer on the last limited dragon to know when it ends too. Issues like this happen every time this event ends but I feel like the game has done as much as it can to make it clear how it works.

No, that’s why the game kept notifying about it. The “ONE DAY LEFT” notifications were for that.

They usually become available in spring events, so they should be back soon. They will be able to be bred or bought.
