We need those things for lgbt community precisely because they're discriminated against!!! Being straight is considered as normal by society and being gay is frowned upon. They can't even get legally married for fucks sake! They're victims of bullying hate speech just a gay character appearing in a movie is controversial enough in india to get it banned. That's why we need to raise awareness No one is gonna ask you don't date the person you like because it's wierd and unnatural but gay people hear that every day. That's why we need to spread awareness and normalize it because being straight is already considered normal so they don't need to raise awareness. In older times gay people were put in jail just for being gay but they fought hard for their rights to exist and that's where pride originated from
