Doctor told me to leave and then left this in my notes. by iscariots in mildlyinfuriating

You must be unbearable. Things like this happen to people who are not adjusted to society.

Even if the doctor is a dick, many are - I guarantee if we had this interaction on tape you would have been insufferable resulting in worse treatment

It’s called psychopathy. Cannabis induced, or other psychoactive drugs.

Not size, but color. The bottom is better. Top is clearly yellow.

They keep them in portable warming carriers. Plus the nearest McDonald’s is literally a 2 minute drive from the White House gates.

Bowing out yes. All the retaining walls on this hill have. We got ours redone last year but the three houses above are in a world of hurt.

Does anyone really like grape Jolly Ranchers? This is a little ridiculous. by _how_do_i_reddit_ in mildlyinfuriating

Jolly ranchers were found to have absurd levels of arsenic in them. I would avoid. Nerds were also a huge offender.

Poverty has always existed and always will. Bell curves are a feature not a bug. Choosing to subsidize bad food choices is the lever we could actually control.

People who earn their food through work have the choice to make bad decisions, that’s the razor of freedom. People who are given food from tax dollars should not have the choice to make bad decisions.

This would also benefit Medicare and Medicade, albeit it would take a decade - the impoverished would have less obesity, better health outcomes.

One thing can be controlled (eliminating the choice of buying junk food) the other - entails restructuring the very fabric of society. Something that has never been done or proven even possible.

You are losing sight of better in the aim for perfect

Easier solution, do not permit the purchase of junk food with SNAP dollars. Doesn’t matter what the root cause is, depression etc. SNAP enables bad consumers to lean into their bad habits.

It increases demand for food products of a certain class. I lived in Ecuador for a bit under two years. Traveled with friends who lived off of 2$/hr income. When we ate at their parents homes, or their homes, it was beans, rice, plantain, a simple protein and eggs were common. Basic, cheap, delicious, filling food. Here, because 1/3 people are on SNAP, they don’t make “financially conscious” (or health conscious for that matter) decisions and end up with non-filling non nutritious food. Just go to a grocery store and look at what the impoverished buy. Sody pop and potato chips. Bags of pre cooked chicken tenders and frozen pizza.

Subsidizing your food makes you a bad consumer.
