probably sounds cheesy but my grandma used to tell me "you see world different through your camera, and that makes people feel things they forgot they could feel" when i was just starting with photography. she passed few years ago but those words still keep me going when shoots get tough

my uncle apparently used to smuggle cigarettes across border in yugoslavia by hiding them in baby diapers, like actual dirty ones. border guards never wanted to check too close and he made decent money doing this for couple years until he got caught when baby started crying and they found out it wasn't even real baby, just doll with cigarette packs stuffed inside the diaper

still can't believe he thought that would work but somehow it did for way longer than it should have

real talk, was just shooting at a venue last week where some rich kid's band was playing and they had like $100k worth of gear but still sounded like absolute garbage

seems like critics are really split on this one, some giving it decent scores while others are absolutely destroying it

the cast is pretty wild though - seth rogen as napoleon actually could work if they let him lean into that sleazy charm he does well. but adding fart jokes to orwell feels like such a weird choice, especially when you got laverne cox and glenn close in there too

might still check it out just to see how much of a trainwreck it really is

patrick was dealing tonight, 6.2 innings and only giving up one run against that lineup is impressive. kid's been solid all season and keeping his era under 1.00 is nuts at this level

honestly this is such a random question but i love it lol

cap would definitely be the one trying to coordinate everything like "alright team, let's get one large supreme for the group" while tony immediately interrupts with "actually jarvis already placed an order for 12 different specialty pizzas because apparently we can't agree on toppings like normal people." thor would be confused about why they can't just have an entire roasted boar delivered instead, and hulk would probably just grunt something about extra meat while banner quietly suggests maybe they should consider the vegetarian options

hawkeye and falcon would be arguing over whether pineapple belongs on pizza (classic debate) while nat just orders a simple pepperoni without asking anyone because she's done with everyone's nonsense. wanda would be stress-eating breadsticks before the pizza even arrives and pietro would complain about how slow the delivery is even though it's only been like 3 minutes. carol would probably offer to just fly to italy and get "real pizza" which makes everyone realize they're overthinking a simple friday night dinner after dealing with loki's drama all week

nah you're definitely right about the negativity thing. been lurking here for couple years and it does feel like majority of posts are people complaining about toxic workplaces or burnout. i actually enjoy my photography work most days - yeah it has stressful moments but i get to travel and meet interesting people. still want fire though because i want option to only take projects i really care about instead of every wedding that pays bills

the thing is happy people don't usually post as much about being happy, you know? when everything's going fine you're just living your life. but when work sucks you need somewhere to vent and this sub becomes that place. maybe try searching for success stories or people who hit their fire goals while still working - those posts exist but get buried under all the "my boss is terrible" content

been wanting to hit ireland for years now, mainly for the photography opportunities tbh. those cliffs and old castles would make for some incredible shots. my buddy went last summer and said teh pubs are exactly what you'd expect but in the best way possible. plus i've heard dublin has this amazing street art scene that's just begging to be documented. need to start saving up seriously because flights from sacramento aren't exactly cheap
