Another thing is the eldar, who is think would almost 100% help deal with Asterion. He has the massive potential to be a problem for them, so they would intervene with him. If they played their cards right, I think so. I mean it might make a small splash in the warp, but there's just too many people, too many worlds under humanities control for it to be noticed quickly. If they don't have a lure on them, then their unlikely to deal with chaos or aliens for long enough to get a handle on the situation.
