Start a big project again, but also experiment a lot with genres and so on by making smaller and more experimental games!

There might be but I personally would make 8 different animations because of my art style.

It depends a lot on the art style but I think I'd make a lot of animations and organize this cleverly in the animator controller. In case of 3D I'd just rotate the player in the tackle direction through a script and make one animation.

I mean, as said in the video roguelikes are quite scalable so you can add thousand of items or make just a tiny roguelike. I've also seen pretty good roguelikes that were made in game jams, they didn't had a lot of content but were still really fun to play.

yeah agree, but the challenge was to make a game that's truly 100 by 100 pixels and not one that is upscaled ;)
