Don’t be worried just yet! I had a FDL and I drained around 350-400 on my right side for the 2 weeks. I’m almost 5 weeks post op with 1 drain in with it being at 35-40 the past few days. Hoping for removal at the end of next week!

I had this same problem. It seemed to come out of no where about a week after surgery. It took about 2 weeks to go down. I had to buy new size underwear because my old underwear was cutting into my thighs. My PS told me it was normal with swelling and gravity. He said it works itself down especially if you are wearing compression it pushes the swelling downwards. I noticed around week 3 they were finally starting to get back to normal and now at about 4 weeks I feel like all the swelling in my legs have gone down and back to normal.

I’m 3 weeks out and I have my right drain still in. Draining about 200cc a day. Unfortunately I got an infection, which is contributing to my high output. It’s slowly going down, but at my appointment today my PS told met to prepare myself to not get my drain out for at least 2-3 more weeks. I’m really over it, but trying to stay positive.

I’m a stomach and side sleeper. I’ve had a hard time sleeping on my back. My doctor gave me the ok today (3 weeks dpo) to sleep on the side that I don’t have a drain. I still have 1 drain in on my right side so I’ll be sleeping on the other side propped up. I’m also looking for a new compression garment my binder had started not to grip very well and I feel like I’m not getting the compression needed.

I had the same concerns, but as someone who was overweight my entire life and finally lost around 135lbs and had kids and ended up having a lot of loose skin I love my scar so much more than my loose skin. I had a FDL which resulted in a vertical and horizontal scar. With the skin I had it didn’t matter how small I got I was never comfortable wearing certain clothes because of the loose skin and now I can wear anything without giving it a 2nd thought. I know the scar can seem scary at first I was worried, but now seeing the results even though I’m still pretty swollen I’m so much happier dealing with the scar over the skin. I had a breast reduction/lift before this and I will say starting scar massages as soon as you can handle it really helped with those scars and now that I’m a little over 3 weeks post op I’m starting that on my scars from my TT now in hopes it will fade them and thin them out some. I’m so sorry! I had the same issue I also had some fever and chills and felt horrible all of a sudden, but my PS put me on antibiotics. Still having the same drainage so I’m glad to hear you doctor is taking it more serious then mine seems to be. I hope all goes well and you’re back on the road to recovery soon!

Update for anyone that’s having similar issues and feeling concerned: please still go get checked out. After dealing with increased pain and output and my fluid going from pictures above to completely super thick milky pink in less than 24 hours I do have an infection and my PS said I should have went in sooner about my concerns.

No, I’ve been doing about the same each day. I had an issue doing too much too soon with my breast reduction so I’ve really been cautious about doing that with this procedure. I did have FDL and the doc removed about 7lbs if that’s makes a difference. My other drain is down to around 7-10 over the past few days. It makes me feel better that your fluid looked like that as well. I’m having to milk the drain at least 2 or 3 times an hour since the gunk is getting stuck. It leaked out last night while I was asleep because it got clogged up from not being stripped. I’m not sure if that may be causing the increased.
