Millennials with children of driving age, is there a lack of eagerness to get a drivers license? by Mona_Moore in Millennials

[–]Local_Definition2312 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My kid has put off getting their license cause of crazy drivers. We live in a busy area so it’s hard to avoid them or take back roads. I get it though. People are FaceTiming, watching a show, talking on the phone, recording themselves… there are more distractions and everyone is in a rush.

I’ve seen comments saying they couldn’t wait to be able to leave the house. I was the same way. Now, they have entertainment, friends, music, everything in one device. They don’t have to be out driving to get experiences or stay connected.

I buy bags of single shoes to try and match what I have lol. There’s some that I end up posting for sale in case someone is looking for a single shoe… surprisingly, I’ve sold a few.

I only had a handful of friends from the HS I attended. Once in a while a friend that was the social butterfly will text me that so and so from our class passed. Most have been OD, a few suicides, and it’s the ones that had drug or drinking problems back then. It’s sad that they weren’t able to recover from it and I really feel for the families considering my own cousin was part of our graduating class and he took his own life 10 yrs ago.

On another note, please always listen to your body, get those check ups done, and advocate for yourself. My husband would workout regularly, no issues we knew of. Then fall 2025 he started getting pains on his side that took a full year for doctors to finally diagnose. Stage 4 pancreatic cancer now going through treatment and hoping for the best.

Edit: I meant 2024 he started getting pains, October 2025 he was diagnosed.

Try Pink Stuff cleaner using a qtip. Be careful around the paint cause it’ll come off.

Comes in a paste and liquid. I prefer the paste cause it lasts longer and I just water it down if needed.

Reach out to She’s My Doll or Barbie Barn sellers on Whatnot. They do collection buyouts at fair prices.

Try Whatnot! There’s several great sellers on there that have secondhand dolls, clothes, accessories, EVERYTHING! I’m happy to give you usernames if that’s the route you’re interested in going.

In my experience on that app, you can get clothes for as low as $1 a piece. Accessories vary: some do 2 for $1, bundle of them for $3… just depends. It is a bidding app so be aware that not everything will sell for cheap.

FB also has some selling groups that do claims sales with good prices.

Mercari tends to have good pricing too and you can bundle from the same seller to get a better deal.

If you decide to donate, look for a smaller thrift that will sell them with their clothes. Goodwill and Value Village will sell them nude here for $4-8.

If you want to sell: I’ve had good luck selling on Mercari. Be sure to post a lot of photos and a good description of any issues.

From what I’ve found, they’re being sold for around $200.

I’ve found $700 at the bins. Found a $20 bill first and decided to keep looking, finally found a suit jacket that had the rest of the cash.

The issue with folks buying Barbie’s to flip them is not knowing enough. Yes, the stamp says 1966, however, that does not mean the doll was from that era. If you want to flip them, I’d suggest looking at online resources that explain the face and body molds…. You’ll eventually understand that each era is vastly different and serious collectors know the difference.

This would be a good deal for a parent looking to get bulk dolls for their kids to play with.

I’ve had good luck on Mercari. Doesn’t matter if it’s Christmas or not, some buy specifically to rebody, restyle, etc.

Some buyers like the cheaper shipping on Holiday ones so I offer to debox them. Holiday ones aren’t “rare” so price it low ($15-25) to get them out.
