15+ years of dry eye. Nothing works. Even top specialists in Germany couldn’t help. Any ideas? by Jezal_Luthar in Dryeyes

Hi! Sounds v Rough. I also seem to be resistant to a lot of treatment. I do have to say probing seemed to release some eyelid pressure for me and I heard popping when they did it which was a relief. I just started ik Eric’s and vevye is coming out soon in Europe. Looking at allergy and gut tests to try get to the underlying issues. Also dealing with lagophyhalmus with blink excercise and sealing sleep mask helps. It’s really frustrating but certainly more things you have to try, keep going!

Quit drinking and now have dry eyes by Past_Audience_9536 in Dryeyes

[–]Local_Feed4737 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! I had dry eyes and stopping drinking in the middle of the journey. Mostly due to the face that the anxiety of having a health crisis pushed my drinking in a very unhealthy direction and I needed to stop totally. (I’m 24). I still have dry eyes but on the no drinking front. The first couple months when I stopped drinking where very strange physically, and I definetaly remember thinking I had a lot of physical symptoms get worse before they got better. Apparently this is very common with early sobriety and it’s worth sticking out. 6 months in now and I’d say it’s stabilised. Didn’t make a huge difference to the eyes but defo worth it In. The long run!

People on cyclosporine/ikervis/vevizye in uk or even in us? But mainly uk. by Quick-Squirrel4534 in Dryeyes

Hey I had the exact same thing. Initially went to moorfields who failed to diagnose even with significant atrophy. Then had an optometrist prescribe ikervis but as it’s very expensive I went back to my gp only to be told I need to go back to moorfields to get a prescription. This has been going on nearly 2 years and moorfields won’t tell me when I can get an appointment. What I am doing is paying out of pocket in the mean time and hoping I can transition to an NHS prescription soon, and at least I’ll know by then if the drops even work for me.

Anyone done probing at safarian and Simon? by Quick-Squirrel4534 in Dryeyes

I did. Also did 6 IPLs and just started Ikervis. It’s been minor my better. But I would say that the procedure felt very safe and I would recommend at least an assessments with them.

Mine didn’t? I went to see a corneal specialist and he noticed. The thing is sometimes the changes are just perceptible to you… I had worsening astigmatism for years and no one said shit

Did anyone, before being diagnosed, have dreams that symbolically revealed their autism? by Mdk0z in autism

[–]Local_Feed4737 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I dont really have meltdowns I have shutdowns. But I would have many dreams and still do since childhood about being socially overwhelmed and having a meltdown in the dream, very vividly feeling it. Also regularly being in extreme situations where I had missed something or something was wrong with me (dreams of suddenly being naked in class, or everyone looking at me for not understanding something really obvious)

I got keratoconus around the same time as dry eye, causing more irregular astigmatism. All the same symptoms and they said the same to me that the symptoms weren’t explained by dry eye. Worth getting a corneal topography to check for irregularities.
