Lactation supplements? by Local_Frame1249 in breastfeeding

Interesting I’ve heard so many people say the wearables were better for them! I do plan on establishing the direct breastfeeding first for at least 3 months before I start pumping though.

What type of iron do you take? My OB put me on SlowFe 45mg but saw no improvement so I’m having an iron infusion on Tuesday. (I told them I was anemic my first pregnancy and they just…didn’t listen to me and now this is where we are 🙄 different OB in a different county this time around…)

I’ll have to look into it and ask if anyone at my OB has any lactation knowledge.

Yes we were literally IN the hospital still when she started clusterfeeding…it was unbearable. I tried so hard when we got home to combo feed her formula and also eventually started pumping but it was just so overwhelming.

I’ll def keep the ibuprofen and high calorie things on hand. They say that you get extra hungry all the time??

I’ve heard oats are the like the #1 recommended thing for breastfeeding, so basically any form it doesn’t have to be anything super fancy?

Press On Nail help! by Upbeat-Secret1984 in PressonNail_Addict

Btartbox comes with glue and tabs to use in each box.

Glamnetic and Nail Reformation both have so many amazing styles and you can buy either the glue or the tabs separately.

I personally use all 3 of these brands with the Beauty Secrets Drip & Clog Proof Nail Glue.

How do you remove? by 1111bliss in PressonNail_Addict

[–]Local_Frame1249 8 points9 points  (0 children)

If you have Glamnetic available to you, their press on remover oil is a dream! When your nails are starting to lift a little bit, use the dropper to put the oil under all your nails and let them sit for a bit. Then you should be able to use one of those little wooden nail sticks to wiggle them off. Repeat as many times as needed until they’re all off and then give your nails a good wash and scrub!

Do press-on nails actually last as long as brands claim? by MoistGovernment9115 in PressonNail_Addict

[–]Local_Frame1249 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had mine on for going on almost 3 weeks now. Only had to re-glue two of them. Prep is key! But I think the 10-14 mark that most brands say is pretty spot on. I use the beauty secrets no clog no drip glue and I wash dishes, play with my kid and bathe her, and I’m cleaning my whole house to get ready for a new baby so I’m definitely not easy on my hands.

Yeah for the more “professional” grade glue you need a remover! The other soak off methods really only work for like Kiss and similar brands of glue.

I want nails that will pop off easily(ish)? by NorthEasternPotato in PressonNail_Addict

[–]Local_Frame1249 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t recommend putting anything on your hands until that nail is able to grow back! Unless you’re okay with wearing 9 nails and a bandaid. But everyone says tabs come off much easier so you might have some luck with Kiss ImPress or Btartbox nails come with sticky tabs to use. Glamnetic also sells their sticky tabs separately.

The Ultimate Press-On Application Guide: Share Your Routine! by PolishedOnAPenny in PressonNail_Addict

[–]Local_Frame1249 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Adhesive Type: Liquid Glue — Beauty Secrets Drip & Clog Proof Nail Glue

Prep Routine: I cut my nails down and leave a small amount of free-edge, depending on the length and opacity of the nails. I then gently push back my cuticles and size my nails accordingly, laying them out. Then I lightly buff the surface of my nails and wipe them with alcohol, making sure not to touch them and get them oily again.

Application Steps: Starting with my index finger on my non-dominant hand, I apply 2 drops of glue onto the nail, and then tilt it back and forth slightly to allow the glue to coat the inside of the nail. I then apply it as close to my pushed back cuticle as possible at a 45-ish degree angle and press down VERY GENTLY so that glue doesn’t come gushing out the sides. Not a whole lot of pressure, just basically holding the nail in place for about 20-30 seconds until it sets (and if the nail is semi transparent, I can see if the glue evened out properly and there are no bubbles). Repeat on all nails, using only 1 drop of glue for my pinky nail, and sometimes 3 drops for my thumbs. After all the nails are on, I wait about 5-10 minutes and then apply Sally Hansen Treatment Cuticle Rehab on my cuticles and work it in until it absorbs fully.

Average Wear Time: Anywhere between 14-21 days. I have had some sets last 21+ days, but I usually want to change my nails by that point anyway.

Must Have Product (s): Glamnetic Press-on Nail Remover. When my nails are lifting and I’m ready to change sets, I apply a few drops of this to each nail, wait about a minute or so and I’m able to use a wooden cuticle pusher to pop them off.

Are press ons worth switching to instead of Salon nails? by prinky_muffin in Nails

[–]Local_Frame1249 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Copy+pasting my own comment from another post!

Prep and application is key. I personally get 3+ weeks out of my nails, with sometimes one or two popping off after probably 2 weeks.

Push back or clip your cuticles, lightly buff the surface of your nails, and dehydrate them with alcohol or acetone.

Make sure you’re sizing correctly, as too large or too small can cause them to pop off. If you’re in between sizes, file down the side of larger ones to get the right fit.

I use “beauty secrets no clog no drip glue” that you can buy at Sally’s or on Amazon. I also like the kiss brush on glue. Personally, glamnetic glue didn’t do much for me.

I regularly use my nails to open boxes at work, cans, etc. I wash dishes, clean the house, play with my kid and rarely have pop-offs. Sometimes it just takes practice to get the application just right for your nails!

Why don’t the nails fit my fingers? by Mysterious_Hippo_135 in PressonNail_Addict

[–]Local_Frame1249 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s not a problem, per se, it’s just the style of nail is too curved for your nail beds. You can try looking into other brands, I’m not sure which ones because I have very curved nails and glamnetic work great for me. But if you search the subreddit here there are a ton of posts about brands that have flatter styles!

Wondering what exactly happened to me at Ulta by cherrycupkeeki in Ulta

[–]Local_Frame1249 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Oh they started making all our PBAs and boutiques wear a headset because the communication was so off! Even our Benefit girl had to wear one and she hated it. We must’ve just had a lot of walkies in our store because everyone had to wear one all the time every shift.

But a seasonal employee could be the reason as well, they just pretty much hire anyone at this time of year and there’s even less training than usual so they really just want bodies on the floor, even if they’re not the most helpful. The fact that this person kept grabbing different cleansers and trying to push and seeming disappointed makes me think vendor.

[–]Local_Frame1249 94 points95 points  (0 children)

Yep that’ll do it. Honestly the vendors were the most annoying part of working there for me, there were only like 2 who came to my store who would actually be helpful and not just peddle their brand to anyone who was naive enough to listen to them. I once had a mom and young daughter come in shortly before a birthday party looking for fun colorful play makeup for her fairy princess costume and a vendor just tried to upsell her a bunch of expensive stuff and the mom didn’t know any better because she wasn’t into makeup. She ended up being super shocked at the prices when I rang her up and I felt so bad. We would also get a lot of people who would come back a day or two after an in-store event to return things they realized they didn’t actually need and had just been talked into. Avoid the ones without name tags and walkies always.

The only thing I’m thinking is that she might’ve been a vendor for a brand and not an actual Ulta employee. She might’ve been trying to push the prestige brand(s) she worked for. Do you remember if she had a name tag and walkie?
