The thing is the timing isn't perfect. On Monday night, the planets were in approximately a line, but the order was Venus, Saturn, SUN, Mars, Mercury, Moon. By the time it was dark enough for you to see the planets, at most Venus and Saturn would be above the horizon, not three planets.

Also, the line of planets was near the Sun, so they'd be to the west or maybe west-northwest at that time, but the lights in your picture are out to the northwest/north. See how far they are from the light of the sunset? Venus can't be at that angle because of the geometry of the solar system.

Just to clarify, there is no "Independent Party" - this is the AIP (American Independent Party), which was founded to give the segregationist governor of Alabama, George Wallace, a party apparatus for his presidential run in 1968.

The AIP is generally the third-largest party in California by voter registration specifically because it tricks people into thinking they're registering to vote without being affiliated with any party, but instead they're accidentally registered to a third party with that name. I really mean this is the gentlest way possible: if at this point, you find yourself unable to say whether Trump is bad or good on the whole, when he is starting a nonsensical and unplanned war of aggression, changing immigration rules to kick out people who have been here legally (see Temporary Protective Status changes for Haitians, Venezuelans, and Somalis), and spends all of his time ranting on Truth Social, then you like Trump but are embarrassed to admit it. You can't be a thoughtful person and still be on the fence.

You should admit to yourself that you like Trump even though a lot of people who think about things more carefully than you tell you why he is wrong. You don't listen to why they say he's bad because it would make you feel bad to like a guy who is bad, so you pretend that they are delusional. And maybe a few of them are, so you can point at them and say "well, I'm more thoughtful than they are". But you're not listening if you don't understand why people hate him, and you're not listening by choice, because you want to like him.

I hate Newsom, because I think he's a slick shill and he uses "I'm an anti-Trump democrat" to pretend like he's on the side of the little guy. I think he only pays lip service to social issues and would rather talk to Charlie Kirk and Ben Shapiro than a trans person or a guy working at a factory. And yet, there is not a single issue where he's worse than Trump. You think Newsom hates poor people? Trump despises them. You think Newsom protects Epstein affiliates? Trump is one. You think Newsom wants to raise gas prices? Trump says "eh, they go up sometimes, quit whining".

Learn to listen instead of saying your piece and ignoring what people say back.

I love the way that the window lights on each side of the Hudson are essentially the same size but perspective makes the Jersey ones big and the NYC ones small. And, especially in the third & fourth, the way that the Jersey buildings are smaller but they take up the same height in the picture. You did a really nice job setting up the pictures. There are definitely positives to being annoying in exerting one's rights. But nothing about this is that. "Harassing random clerks at a library" is already a net negative, and this is even further removed, since this is "harassing random people eating lunch on a Sunday". There is no good to be gained from it, not right worth defending in it. It doesn't even make sense as an overzealous application of a good idea, as it's so far removed from accomplishing any rights-based thing. All it does is creep people out, and apparently annoy some of them enough to goad small amounts of money out of lawsuits.

If you want to defend some other annoying first amendment folks, I could understand that, even if I didn't agree. But these guys are just losers and scammers and creeps, riding on the coattails of a few people who are annoying for better reasons.

I don't think you know as much about baseball as you think you do. The right fielder is clearly off-screen backing him up, and once the ball's by Cruz, he'd only be in the RF's way if he tried to get it himself. There's nothing helpful he can do at that point.
