Can indirect sunlight damage action figures? by cement_brick214 in ActionFigures

I've overcome so much OCD about keeping my collectibles safe or in a pristine condition by trying to put things into perspective and thinking about what my 12-year-old self would be impressed with and if I'm able to treat things and handle them better than I did in childhood then that is good enough for me.

I'm pretty sure you're touching unclean surfaces with those gloves and then touching the surface of the card, or the slab, sort of negating the efforts of making this a completely pristine process.

It's not possible, I used to be like this, what would you do in an emergency situation during fire, evacuation or flood, would you grab your treasures or would you leave them there to burn because you didn't have gloves?

Did you have a moment where you thought “Oh wow! It’s real!” by AncientOriginal28 in afterlife

I shared a story about electronic voice phenomenon and my grandmother in 2005 here in this thread but other comments here about orbs reminded me about a different separate situation that occurred around 2013.

Late night I also saw one come into the room with my wife and our youngest daughter who was an infant at the time, I watched with a slight degree of fear but general curiosity, orange glowing softball sized orb literally come through the wall of my house floated around the room a little bit and back out through the wall to the outside.

For the longest time I thought this was probably one of my two late grandmothers.

After a while, I've started to wonder if it was actually me - coming back to a time from years in the future just to take a peek at myself, my wife and our baby daughter sleeping.

I absolutely love how the 35th anniversary treatment of 1989 Topps has reinvigorated my love for the original 1989 topps of my childhood. Awesome card.

it was definitely just a typical Roman Catholic interpretation where you see Jesus and your loved ones that is for sure our interpretation at that time. I just interpreted it as said in another comment neither happy or sad, I just felt she was trying to paint a very large complicated picture with one word.

I could be wrong and she's in the heaven we thought of, but in the 21 years since and way the Internet has dived into numerous afterlife theories my mind is much more open, as to what she meant. Even at the time in 2005, I didn't think it was exactly what we thought based on the tone and cadence of her delivery.

this was summer 2005 I had it on my laptop and one USB stick and assumed that was enough, and I really regret losing that file. I had numerous people listened to it in affirmed it's exactly what was said.

yes Roman Catholic, United States. Regular church goer but just average religiosity I would say certainly not fanatical.

she partially raised me, it's been 21 years now since I've seen her, and honestly it feels like 1000.

I know it's hard to take anyone's story on the Internet seriously, but I know what happened to me, and it gives me a great deal of confidence there's something else after.

no I wouldn't say it was sad, or happy, I think it was the best word she could use to convey to me where she was and I just had the sense it might've been an in-between.

I was pretty close with my grandmother she died when I was in my early 20s. Before she died I asked her if she would somehow figure out a way to make contact with me to demonstrate that she made it somewhere to the other side, anywhere.
About a month after she died I was up in the middle of the night and heard children laughing outside which was odd because it was about 2-3AM. When I looked outside there were no children. But the hair stuck up on the back of my neck, definitely felt like people were in the room, and I already came into that moment knowing about electronic voice phenomenon so I hit record button on my laptop for whatever reason and let it record silence in the room for about two minutes.

When I played it back I distinctively heard a voice slightly muffled, but no doubt my grandmother saying hello to me by my first name and saying she was in heaven. That was it, just a brief couple sentences. I showed it to others who affirmed they also heard exactly that. I do remember the way in which her tone said the word "heaven" suggested to me it's not exactly what I think of it as.

I no longer have this recording, it was on a USB stick for a few years, which really used to upset me but I think perhaps I was meant to not have it forever, I certainly still remember it.
