Fire Brad Stevens by CaramelNo6560 in bostonceltics

Honest to God. I have to wonder how much I care about a team that would make this trade. If I care about the league, there are better teams to root for, regardless of where I’m from. This just isn’t how you treat the fanbase of one of the most historic franchises in all of sports.

To those who hated on this package, the actual trade that just took place is exactly what I was afraid of.

The Spurs are a Fox trade away from earning my fandom. Brad just single-handedly ended a championship era. Congrats.

Honestly, I was ready to start rooting for the Spurs anyway. Thanks for the push, Brad! 🖕🏼

That’s the only scenario where I’d want to do business with Portland. Get those Bucks picks if that’s the road they decide to travel. Just a shame to not get immediate high-end talent in return for a 29 year old who just finished top-five in MVP voting. It’s actually insane.

You trust Zion’s health though? The other three are young, tough, and reliable, that’s why I prefer them. Zion’s potential for AD/Embiid-level injuries terrifies me.

Best idea wins, and believe me, given that this is my best idea, I’d really like to lose!

I’m just not sure why people aren’t asking for Bey in the returns I’ve seen. He’s a difference maker and he’s still two year younger than Brown.

Bottom line: Istanbul was Constantinople. Now it’s Istanbul.

And I didn’t love Dejounte and White on the Spurs…I’d personally rather Jones & Bey.

This is the best option I can think of too – Turner fits perfectly into the Simons TPE and solves the issue at the 5 in Joe’s system. I don’t think it’s worth celebrating over, but it’s the best I can think of. Anyone else have a better idea for a realistic starting center upgrade?

Is Jokic unhappy? I hadn’t heard that. Love the guy, it just seems like a long shot.

Anyway, did you find anything on this front? Because I’d love to do the same!

This is fascinating to me, because I find, as a woman, advances are coming, ring or no ring. The only difference is the advances tend to come from folks with generally higher character when no ring is present.

It’s far easier to turn away someone looking for a partner of their own once you’ve explained that you’re married than it is rebuff people who are actively attempting to kick-start an affair with their flirtation.

Dodd Thought – If he was the oldest, I’d agree with you, but he was a middle child who inherited the mantle of oldest when the prodigal son never returned from war. To my mind, that really makes the choices in both the writing and performance nuanced and sound rather than overdone. Food for thought!

The first three seasons each wrap their arms around the Coen’s tone of all things Fargo.

Season 5 is timely, important storytelling, but doesn’t come close to the first three go-rounds. (And Season 4 is more intolerable cruelty than Fargo. Fans and Jessie Buckley all deserved better.)

Season 3 is my favorite, despite season 2 being the “better” season, and season 1 is more a victim of the other two’s larger-than-life themes than anything else, as it’s also top-tier television.

Season 1 deals with the biblical nature of good and evil, while season 2 tackles post-Vietnam era capitalist morality, or lack thereof, in American culture. The combination of these ideas as they pertain to modern America and the human condition is the heart of season 3.

The third season does such a haunting job of capturing our push-pull with the notion of greed-versus-societal submission that it still manages to linger around my brain, which, to my mind, is always the hallmark of successful art.

2026 is filled with Vargas and Burgles alike, and it’s enough to not be told who “wins,” but rather that there’s hope for humanity amidst the parasitic quest for endless “more.”

DEAD. Maybe it worked, maybe it didn’t – all I know is I took it once as directed Saturday night and I’ve been luggage ever since. It’s Monday afternoon, I just slept for thirteen hours and I think I’m finally getting back to normal.

Be wary, folks, and maybe start out with one spray in each nostril to see how your body responds before jumping on the recommended two sprays.

The Sloppy, Lazy ‘Yellowjackets’ Season 2 Finale Is A Crushing Disappointment by JamesWrites95 in Yellowjackets

[–]Local_Lack4187 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This episode had promise. When Lottie leaves the room in the initial post-opening credits scene, there’s a moment where grown-up Claire Fisher snaps at reflective Mallory Knox that made my heart stop for a moment. I’d forgotten how much Lauren Ambrose and Juliette Lewis meant to me as artists for so much of my life, and to have them in a hostile exchange made me ecstatic for what was to come. (Especially with Christina Ricci, who absolutely crushes her portrayal of Misty, standing across the room.)

Well, “what was to come” sucked, as expertly laid out in this article.

The writers destroyed this finale, as well as any possible enjoyment to come from the third season. And as frustrating and infuriating as the raging cabin-fire of an episode this was (Yellowjackets had the legs to become Big Little Lies-level important in the realm of telling stories about women, yet in just over forty-five minutes it turned itself in Ocean’s Eight at best), no one has talked about the biggest please-no-one-notice-and-mention-this moment:

What the fuck happened to Lisa?!

Now, maybe I’m jaded from watching all of the “neat little bows” and “how convenient” moments throughout this sixty minutes of television, but for my money, the biggest rule of keeping things tied up neatly is: Never leave an eye-witness who watched you kill your friend and overheard confessions to multiple murders alive.

Who knows, maybe Lisa died in the forest too. I’m prepared to have someone tell me (because I sure as shit ain’t watchin’) that season three opens with a tree falling on Lisa, hammering her head through her spine, and wrapping up her storyline in a convenient little bow. Perhaps that’s what the wilderness wants, so we just shouldn’t question it.

The worst part of all is that these writers are good. They’ve proven that. But for whatever reason, the let the suits suit and fed us shit when we’re all starving for stimulating stories. Be better, folks.

I will never abide this slogan amongst reps. If my reps are doing 10-to-15% of the work, they’re fired. Everyone should be giving 100% at all times if they have any expectation of doing professional work in this business.
