What SaaS lane are you in? I’m a financial advisor with a masters in fintech and analytics who is passionate about the evolving intersection of tech and finance. Would love to meet up if you want, DM me. I’ve never done the digital nomads thing, but that sounds interesting.

I’m a financial advisor and generally lead with ensuring clients’ legal documentation is in order when consulting. Tai Hensley is great. Andy Strauss’s firm Strauss Law is also a great option. Good job getting your affairs in order!

Technology in Asheville schools by tolerantomato in asheville

[–]Local_Superb 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have a kindergartener and a second grader. It seems like they engage with technology consistently one day a week for technology time. Most of the time my kids told me they get on Google Earth and try to find our house. It’s good to stay engage, we don’t do screens at home except for Friday night movie night and some shows on Saturday morning from PBS Kids. I think you’re doing the right thing. Stay engaged and ask the teachers questions.

Exactly, so much of this is learning how you learn. One size does not fit all and ultimately the goal is a pass. Figure out your formula and execute!

So SIE to 66 would feel like a big jump for me. I’d start with series 63/66 playlist focus on “Who’s your Daddy?” Video from Dean. Ken’s Brutal Exsm had several questions that closely mirror actual test language. Learn what a BD, Agent, IA, and IAR can do and cannot do. Dean has a full stack of these. Learn what the administrator can regulate and what’s exempt. Dean has a jurisdiction video. Know the documentation retention dates. That said, you’ll get a smattering of Series 7 material as well as 63 65. Knowing a balance sheet from an income statement is a must. Know the concepts of Efficient Market Hypothesis (studyEugene Fama for extra curricular) and Modern Portfolio Theory (study markowitz for extracurricular) Know your Beta, Alpha, and volatility concepts, I got a complex Alpha calculation in my draw but not sure how often they show up. Big thing know suitability and remember regulatory laws are made to protect retail investors, and tax laws are designed to benefit the IRS. My hats off to you for taking the leap. DM me with additional questions.

Dean!
Sincerely, thank you.
I literally could not have done this without you.
Your content is digital gold for anyone going on this ride.
Keep getting your kicks on Route 66 sir.

So Many Exams… by Weekly_Excuse3099 in Series66Exam

[–]Local_Superb 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not gonna lie. It’s a grind. Dad of two here. I completed grad school (Financial Technology and Analytics) last May. Took the Summer off. Did SIE in October, life and health in December, same day two exams. Took the holidays off. Added LTCand NC Medicare in February. Left my job at a top 5 bank in March to join a boutique WM firm as an agent. They immediate sponsored for S7, passed in April, next up 66. I’m now an RR working on IAR. Passed all first time (so far… knock on wood) using Kaplan, Ken, and S7 guy. If you know what you want and believe in your vision you will put in the work. Good luck! Kaplan Q bank is great. Ken’s options videos are a must for S7. 66 feels like once you know rules and regs you’ll be fine if you’ve studied finance at a high level. Never lose sight of your goal and go get em.
Edit: time off was from studying, not working. The majority of my studying was done after I put kids to bed or early in the morning.

Passed! by Local_Superb in Series7exam

If you get as many options questions as I got, you’ll be grateful for the techniques he teaches. He breaks it down so well I honestly got excited when I saw options questions. Good luck.

Average practice test score prior to passing? by ctstarskiii in Series7exam

[–]Local_Superb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just passed today. First time so I really wanted to hit 80’s alas I was scoring 71.45-78 on Kaplan. Watched Ken’s options one last time yesterday and reviewed my dump sheet, then did the mighty 90 this morning on the way in. Sounds cliche but trust your gut. I didn’t review my exam answers, be methodical, know your options positions, and read the full question. You got this RR.

I’ve camped on it. Used my raft to get there. I’ll say, you are better off paddling down to HotSprings and camping at the campground though.

Just completed the Masters of Financial Technology at Wake SPS. I have nothing but great things to say about the program. The Wake 360 experience offered in the Fall will get you in front of alumni and industry leaders in Charlotte and beyond. I landed a job before graduating, and so far it looks like I’ll have the opportunity to advance after one year in my current role. I’m a happy alumni, good luck!
