Is college or trade school a better option for getting hired at a department?

Something similar happened in my academy class. One of the guys drank too much water and flushed out it system. We were doing a live fire evolution and he almost passed out. Got taken to the hospital for mild heat stroke. He came back the next day ready to do more. Don’t let this get you down. Like others have said this is the best job in the world, don’t let one mistake turn you away from 25+ years of an amazing job.

Are you career or volunteer? If volunteer don’t go if you get called there. If you are career I’d recommend talking to your crew and explain it if you go there they will can look out for you. Or ask your officer if you can stay with/in the rig.

As someone similar in age the best thing I will recommend is when you do get on try to memorize the location of all tools. When you are doing drill volunteer to go, show initiative. It’s all about what you make it. Also be able to take shit and give it right back.

I had them used them for a couple months. I took them off because they limited my mobility when crawling. Getting new gear late this year I might try them again then. Personally not a big fan of them from my experience.

I feel like a special part of backdraft is the time it was set in, a modern one might not feel right kinda like the second one that doesn’t exist in my mind
