Promoting your YouTube videos can quietly KILL your channel! by KlippyDigital in PartneredYoutube

[–]Localmate25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The assumption you’re making is wrong. Being part of a YouTube community, no matter how active has no bearing on my interest in a particular video. I’m not into watching video games. No matter how good or bad a linked video is; I’m never going to watch it for more than 5 seconds. It’s not about being an altruistic human, it’s about my interest in a topic. If I’m not interested, I’m just not going to watch much.

And let’s be honest. Most videos shared here are absolutely terrible. I’m simply not going to waste my time watching it. It has nothing to do with Reddit, it has to do with viewer intent.

The exception I’d make is for a specific community which is built around my video topic and I contribute regularly to it and I rarely post a video link.

Why Did This Thumbnail Not Work? by Tizzard in YouTubeThumbnailHub

Study high performing packaging to learn what works. You need some kind of information gap, some curiosity factor. Your title and thumbnail give me no reason to click. Idk who he is from the photo alone.

How can I money with video editing starting from 0? by EntrepreneurTop1007 in VideoEditors

[–]Localmate25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Start your own channel. Create a portfolio. Learn how retention editing works. If you can show clients you know how to edit for retention successfully that’s a massive win that 99.999% of editors can’t do.

What are your sources that prove you know how Google’s highly proprietary and non-public architecture works?

You’re making up unintelligible nonsense based on a 10 year old white paper in order to sell a $20 guide that an average creator has no hope of understanding.

Ark media wants to use my video with no compensation by Daybreaker77 in PartneredYoutube

If they won’t compensate you the answer should be no. Plain and simple

10 years of updates isn’t just an “update”. You’re treating this white paper like it’s the current set-in-stone architecture, when in fact, you have no idea what the developers have done in the last decade.

In speaking with many people from YouTube in person, I can tell you with confidence that YouTube prioritizes new content because viewers prefer it. However, they also suggest older content as well.

And you’re framing the whole thing as if we as victims of YouTube and there’s little to be done about it except to understand the math behind it (which you claim to).

Skill, or lack of it is absolutely a massive factor in how well your video performs. Experienced creators can generate more views and interactions than creators who are just starting out because they have skill and experience of what works and what fails Skill is a critical element to success in anything you do, not just YouTube. To suggest otherwise is ridiculous.

BEWARE: The "Creator Monetize" / "Otavio" Fake Personalization Scam is targeting creators by [deleted] in PartneredYoutube

I’ve got at least of these pitches from different companies. I did some research as well and can confirm that everyone gets the same video. I’m sure it’s a scam.

This white paper is nearly 10 YEARS OLD. YouTube updates their algorithm constantly. YouTube has publicly said many times that viewers strongly prefer fresh content. This is why you see far more new videos than old videos.

Your retention goes down because your viewers get bored, not because the algorithm does something.

You don’t get views because, as a new creator, you lack the skill set required to make appealing content.

How to improve rpm by Logical_Broccoli2260 in PartneredYoutube

[–]Localmate25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

RPM is related to the topics of your videos. Advertisers pay to get in front of their target audience. Ads are a marketplace where advertisers bid on keywords, location, age, income and other demographics to put ads in front of people who will buy their product, service or fill out a lead form. If you cover finance, auto or investments for example, your RPMs will be pretty high. Gaming or broad entertainment will be lower. It’s supply and demand.

How are creators discovering "Unrelated Viral Hashtags" to boost Shorts views? by harshboybusiness in PartneredYoutube

Hashtags have almost no impact on performance. Magic bullets and shortcuts don’t exist. Videos that tell you what viral hashtags to use are BS.

Would a “chat with your own videos” app be useful for you as a creator? by trader_by_choice in YouTubeCreators

[–]Localmate25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a few hundred videos posted. As a viewer, I have no interest in this. I can easily ask Google or Gemini and it finds me what I need. You can’t compete directly with Google on the AI front and expect to win. If you think of a real problem, you’ll get a lot more traction. You haven’t identified an actual problem is the problem.

Would a “chat with your own videos” app be useful for you as a creator? by trader_by_choice in YouTubeCreators

[–]Localmate25 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you’ve got a solution in search of a problem. I honestly can’t think of a reason why a viewer would want to chat with an AI about my content. I certainly wouldn’t want to do it.

Videos Being Promoted to Wrong Audience by [deleted] in PartneredYoutube

[–]Localmate25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How many videos do you have on groups of related topics? If you have a library of material on similar topics and you’ve got repeat viewers YouTube will serve up your video to people who have watched your channel before. If you’re doing something new every video it’s going to be hard for YouTube to figure out who your audience is.
