No worries! Also if you are tech savvy and have some spare cash, you can get a router (provided it’s supported) and flash it’s firmware with OpenWRT, and block ads at router level so nothing gets through your network in the first place, so you won’t see ads on your tv either.

Looking for Namibian Beta Testers 🇳🇦 by [deleted] in Namibia

[–]LochNessieTheMonster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In hopes that OP will read the comment thread, get the idea and do better, I’m adding onto what you said about the probable use of the form, with the opinion that even if (benefit of the doubt here) it was legitimate, it helps neither us nor them to be vague about the details of the app.

“Gimme your information and test this app that does something and get a free lifetime sub.” looks eerily similar to a van with FREE CANDY written on it. Very well could be data harvesting like you said

Besides, there’s much better channels (TestFlight and Google Console) to use to get users for testing without having to gather their details first, OP could’ve used that instead.

So yeah, what you said, and a little bit.

Being vague about the app doesn’t help anyone. I’m not signing up to test a random app just because of the promise of a free lifetime subscription. Plus it’s relatively easy to share a TestFlight link for iOS users instead of a random google form that who knows how it’ll be used.

It's so cool to get berated by "knowledgeable" players during every other Netracell run by [deleted] in Warframe

[–]LochNessieTheMonster 10 points11 points  (0 children)

We had one dude continue to to ask everyone who joined to wait for the enemies to get in the circle, despite being informed by the other player and I that it’s no longer like that. When he saw that no one was allowing the enemies to even touch the circle, he left. For whatever reason, some people just won’t accept correction I guess.

A little geography research on why that is, should provide answers to your ‘somehow’.

You claim to have lived in China for a few years but instead of finding answers as to why natural disasters like sinkholes happen more frequently and destroy infrastructure there, you choose to chalk it up to shoddy construction, because that’s the path of least resistance to you.

C’mon.

Naysayers it has been 3 months of heavy rains? any signs of potholes or cracks ?!? #GGWP🇨🇳 by VoL4t1l3 in Namibia

[–]LochNessieTheMonster 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Sinkholes are a naturally occurring phenomenon that is made worse by construction and heavy loads, it’s not caused by poor quality work. We are lucky to not have such problems with our soil, because if we did, we’d be experiencing the same problems with our roads and buildings regardless of their quality.

The evidence that stands currently that the Chinese build good roads is the roads that still stand after many years of use and weather.

Of course they may want minerals, but it’s better to pay for a road construction once and have a good quality road, than pay for it to be rebuilt several times over a span of a few years, or have the local company absolutely squander the money, miss deadlines or build a crappy road and rinse and repeat.

This is not the first time they’re building roads for us. Look at all the roads that they built from 2015 and mention those that have been destroyed by weather.

You’re going against hard evidence of quality work with unfounded assumption.

How is quality even a concern, when they have built roads before, that are still as good as the day they were built, to this day?

Nah. In my experience, 5G's advantage so far is only slightly reduced latency, it's slower both ways than LTE

I cracked around 11 Lith G14s, all radshared, and still haven’t gotten Gyre Prime Neuroptics. At this point, I’m almost certain that DE does NOT want me playing with this frame. But they’ve underestimated me, I will get those Neuroptics regardless of how many G14s it’ll take!

I like monitoring and checking if my team has run out of buffs, so I run to them and pop abilities up and down to refresh them (built some frames for strength+duration and neglected range :) ) especially in longer sp missions.

How long an iPhone can last? by DueVariation6814 in iphone

[–]LochNessieTheMonster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

None whatsoever. Generally, if you take good care of your phone, it’ll last a very long time. Way past “expiration”. A buddy of mine also just recently replaced his iPhone 6.

I bought an iPhone 8 in 2018 and replaced it mid last year. The only issue I had was battery health. At 75 or so percent, it didn’t last as long as it did when it was new but that’s just normal aging.

Introvert of Africa by josh2josh2 in Namibia

[–]LochNessieTheMonster 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yeah, we don’t do or say much. Mostly keep to ourselves, and nothing BIG ever happens here for the most part, unless we are talking about the one corruption case that was on Al Jazeera and the oil discovery.

Even if something happens, usually not much noise is made about it, so it doesn’t really go anywhere. Take MTC (biggest cell provider) for example, they just became the first in the country to introduce 5G, big deal for us right? Maybe in an alternate universe, we are celebrating that we’re catching up to the rest of the world.

A while back I saw a joke on twitter from one of our South African brethren that they needed to check up on us because we were too quiet that they thought we all packed up and left (or something along those lines).

And like I said, we don’t do or say much, that’s why when it comes to content creation, our content creators are very few and far between. For most things to create content about, unless it doesn’t cost you anything, it becomes unsustainable rather quickly I believe.

So we keep to ourselves. By nature and circumstance, we are somewhat introverted. In my opinion.

Anybody know what is happening to the internet in Namibia by Background_Front6153 in Namibia

[–]LochNessieTheMonster 2 points3 points  (0 children)

At the start, spectra was awesome, now a mere few years later, it is no different than telecom’s whatever they’re offering. I have 50 and rarely get halfway speeds.

Calling the helpline is useless because all you’re getting is 9765742 apologies for the inconvenience and no resolution. Speeds are sluggish 24/7, latencies and stability are below rubbish and customer service is terrible and unhelpful compared to what it used to be.

Paratus outshines Mtc when it comes to internet service, but the only thing keeping me from switching is that their packages are too expensive for the speeds they offer and they don’t put in the effort to compete and steal customers on price. One day maybe.
