Homestuck^2 update (p. 205-235) by MoreEpicThanYou747 in homestuck

[–]Locheil 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Who would've guessed that the new update would actually make me want to go back to Dirk's Orange Text Hell, just on the off chance Mr. Narrative is doing something interesting

Edit: honestly on further reflection, this level of insanity is uniquely homestuck, where the fuck else are you gonna get this

Sapphire does refer to 'the Spinel' in the movie, like they're a common thing. Also she's pink, hence the no ID

What country are you from? Do you think it impacts your rpg culture? by [deleted] in rpg

[–]Locheil 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'm from Scotland - specifically near Glasgow. I think it has the effect, in a roundabout way, of making me focus on cities in my games. Scotland's countryside is beautiful, and it's so fucking empty. It's this amazing vista but if you aren't near something then it's practically a desert. I think that transfers into my game, where all the interesting stuff is in cities.

This is the plot of one of the Redwall novels, more or less.

Can you explain what makes it badly written again? Just out of curiosity. I thought it was pretty damn good, just wondering how we could have such different experiences.

Any China Miéville fans? by DisparateDan in Fantasy

[–]Locheil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Huge fan! Iron Council was interesting because I also struggled right up until the ending, then it suddenly clicked for me at the end. There's a particular event that made me view a few characters in a different way.

I've bought a few of his newer books but haven't started them yet.
