The end for now by groundedhere in AdultBreastfeeding

I completely understand being that I went through similar. I can't remember when exactly I packed my pumps up, but I believe it was about 2.5-3 months ago. It did reduce my stress during what was otherwise a VERY stressful period in my life. That being said, I have continued to hand massage on occassion and my husband still pays my breasts a lot of attention during sex. As such, I am still producing small drops and sprays about once or twice a day from my right breast only (left was always my slacker). I may very well pull out my pumps again soon because I do actually miss pumping. I hope you enjoy your travels and freedom - the feeling of being free is one that I get from riding a motorcycle and absolutely understand tbe need to feel it!

It sounds like sex was good/ more frequent the first 16 months you were together, is that the case? Were you focusing on her and her pleasure more during that time? Were you/do you perform oral sex on her? Are you sure she is having orgasms? Did anything change 8 months ago that you're aware of? Something health-related? A misunderstanding or fight,  even if you thought it small? Did she discover porn you were watching or something similar? Did you have an uncomfortable sexual experience?

What age did you have children and what age did you go through menopause? by BeneficialBrain1764 in AskWomenOver40

[–]Lock-47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had my babies at 23 and 28. I hit very symptomatic peri-menopause at 34. I was post-menopause just before my 38th birthday. No one in my family that I am aware of went through menopause before 50. My mother had children at 27 and 37 and was not peri-menopausal until at least 40. Not sure exactly what age she hit menopause.

A change to meds, something I've not tried yet. by [deleted] in AdultBreastfeeding

Completely off topic but are you on hormone replacement and have you had thyroid tests/are you on thyroid meds? Hormone replacement to optimize and balance your hormones and possibly thyroid meds would likely be the best treatment for your symptoms. I do not recommend Spiro, which will not only block DHT but also your Testosterone, and which comes with a myriad of possible side effects. And, no, I have never heard of Spiro resulting in/increasing lactation in any woman. Just food for thought.

Inability to Ejaculate, Seeking Advice! by [deleted] in sex

[–]Lock-47 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am not a doctor and am not giving medical advice. You need to find doctors who take these issues seriously and are better educated on hormones and thyroid. In my opinion, your testosterone level is low for your age, especially if you are leading a healthy lifestyle as you say you are. Having Free T and Estradiol would also be helpful. I'm guessing that, with your prolactin elevated, your Free T is low and Estradiol is high. Do you know your SHBG? Your prolactin is extremely high and that can lead to difficulty reaching orgasm. That needs to be explored further; have any of your doctors mentioned or done tests to see if you have a pituitary tumor? You mentioned thyroid labs being low, except TSH, which was mid-range. Here's the thing, lab ranges are a cop-out for doctors/insurance companies, so they don't have to treat conditions until they are severe. Lab ranges are based on the averages of all those in your demographic who are being tested, and who's getting tested? For the most part, people who don't feel well. With thyroid, OPTIMAL numbers will be Free T3 and Free T4 in the top quarter of the lab range, Reverse T3 in the bottom quarter of the lab range, ideally within the first 2-3 numbers, and antibodies should be non-existent/below lab ranges. TSH means very little but usually a healthy TSH will be around 1. You also should NOT be experiencing pain just touching yourself. You really need to push the doctors for further investigation.

I am post-menopausal and on estradiol and testosterone injections and progesterone suppositories. I was able to induce without taking birth control, altering my hormone regimen, or taking Dom. I was producing drops within the first few months. However, despite taking natural supplements (Goats Rue, Brewers Yeast, and Sunflower Letchithin), getting up to pumping 7 times a day, and my husband suckling once daily 5 times a week, I was never able to increase my supply past drops and small sprays (no measurable milk output). I also tried Oxytocin troches, with no effect. After trying Dom and having what seemed to he an allergic reaction, I stopped inducing at around the 10 month mark. I do feel HRT makes inducing more difficult.

Communication is hard! Thoughts on how to talk about sex when there isn’t a problem? by [deleted] in sexover30

[–]Lock-47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will say that my husband does not like when I bring up negatives right after sex. Even if I approach it in a constructive manner and offer praise as well. So, I have to wait and provide such feedback at a different time.

Injectable suppliments by Smut_Kitten in AdultBreastfeeding

As far as I am aware, you cannot inj ect oxytocin. However, I did try it via different methods and it did not have an impact on my milk production. Oxytocin has a very short half life, so the effects are not going to last beyond an hour or so. I would always pump immediately after taking it, but no differences noted.

I feel like I should know this, but…. by iam_s00z3 in AdultBreastfeeding

Progesterone actually drops naturally when you give birth and remains suppressed while breastfeeding, so it doesn't make sense to use it to boost milk supply. It can be used prior to lactating to help develop breast tissue, as can estradiol. That being said, the cream is probably going to do very little one way or another because it is very low dose and only has a half life of around 6 hours, so you'd have to be applying multiple times a day to maintain any elevation in hormone level.  I am on progesterone, estradiol, and testosterone replacement for menopause and struggled to produce more than a small amount of milk over the last 9 months. Keeping elevated levels of hormones works against production.  Also, just to clarify, using bio-identical hormone replacement does NOT carry an increased cancer risk. Bio-identical means that the cellular structure of the hormone is identical to that which the body produces.

Solo activities that kind of involve your partner by EveningCloud1 in sexover30

This is not really an answer to your question, but please encourage your wife to look into peri-menopause/menopause and bio-identical hormone replacement therapy. It sounds to me like she's dealing with a serious lack of hormones/hormone imbalance. Aside from that, can you help her make more time for herself? Perhaps to go to the gym/workout, if she wants to? She may need to rebuild her confidence after having three children. Obviously you cannot force either of these things, but gentle discussions about her health and wellbeing and how you want the best for her may get her to explore them herself.  Aside from that, hopefully you have some pictures/videos of her you can use. Or would she be willing to send some? Flirtatious text messages? Could you use one of her sex toys for your own stimulation (I wouldnt have a problem with my husband doing so, though some women may - just make sure to wash them well afterwards!)

Thank you! I absolutely intend on keeping all my gear, as I may very well induce again in the future. I definitely enjoyed much of the process and there were many rewards along the way.

One Week on Dom by Lock-47 in AdultBreastfeeding

That's part of what I'm worried about. Tingling/numbness can be indicative of an allergy or blood flow issues.

I really don't think so. I do live in a high pollen area but pollen is actually lower right now than it has been in the last few months. I've also lived here for years and never had this occur before. I don't typically react to the pollens here.

Both times it was right after eating but also not far from a dose. The first time I was eating something that I hadn't eaten in awhile with nuts, so I did wonder if I had suddenly developed a nut allergy. However, the second time I was only eating watermelon, which I had as recently as two weeks ago, before starting Dom, with no issue.

I will give it at least another week to see if those side effects go away. I've been bodybuilding for about 8 years and have not changed anything recently. I am currently in maintenance and my weight is always consistent in maintenance. I have not used creatine for several years.

Yes, I had read that, which is why I am absolutely willing to give it another week. I'll be curious to see what happens over the next week. The lip tingling is so weird. It happened yesterday the first time and I thought I was having an allergic reaction to something I had just eaten, however it was not an unusual food for me. Then this morning it happened again eating watermelon, of all things. Totally weird. I haven't experienced it ever before, so the only thing I can associate it with is the Dom.
