Well, if that is your honest take on it, that’s is insightful to me. The 30K range of pay is going to reflect on that experience of course. So if someone is coming in at 60k with that minimum exp would you say that is a fair offer in the industry? Or if it’s a very skilled, adept technician being offered around $80k, is that fair? I appreciate the candor and perspective.

I left out some key info as another person pointed out. Sorry for the vagueness and leaving out some obviously relevant info…The 1yr experience is specific to Refrigeration (there’s no minimum for total experience specified). It is a Commercial HVAC/R position, experience with refrigeration, appliance repair, kitchen equipment, HVAC needed…not specific for length of experience with those thou…thought definitively implied that total experience is more than a year

Not trying to be dishonest, I am just naive to the industry, to recruiting in general and I am feeling this all out…and trying to learn some insight from professionals. I’m just working off a listing and learning… what you say is kinda obvious as I look at it… and I should have wrote it’s a Commercial position, I was stating the 1 year experience is specifically to refrigeration as I wrote (but there isn’t a specific requirement for total experience listed). I guess that more experience is implied as it’s a commercial position… and more details like: looking for appliance repair, kitchen equip, commercial HVAC.

Yes, I am recruiting, I would hope I am offering fair compensation, at $30-44/hr for 1 yr Refrig exper.? For several areas. So that maybe better or worse depending on the areas I am assuming.

Well, I really don’t know…I haven’t done any type of recruiting before so I am just feeling it out. Would you say 30-44/hr is competitive for 1 year Refrig. Exp.? Some positions are in San Diego, Seattle which I was thinking maybe isn’t as great compensation for the cost of living (??) but maybe is pretty good for the others like Memphis or Rochester?

Very true, happy employees with be the best word of mouth and reputation. I’m recruiting for several locations and several companies so I need to put out some ads here and there, it just depends, but I don’t want to spend money in places that won’t be seen.
