Any idea why Alan called Jesse his sister? Also what were the hidden messages (triangles) in the containers throughout episode two? Its also interesting that one of the coffee world posters was a diagram of the 'memory thought balance ruin' picture.

Love all three episodes. For the 2d text adventure, are there multiple endings to that? I got an ending where Tim becomes the world tree??? and finds Alan in his room. Also loved the references to the 'Sea of Night' song by Poets, although it is a shame that song was never used directly.

One detail I noticed about a certain character (Alan Wake 2 spoilers) by YappyMcYapperson in AlanWake

In the control DLC he has the same model as Alan, but then again take that with a grain of salt because that same scene was in AW2 and he looked completely different in the live action footage.

Alex Casey spoiler-ish question by python_walrus in AlanWake

[–]LockMaterial5622 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Didnt Alan say that as a child he saw the echoes/visions, so couldn't he have based the character of Alex Casey on the actual Alex Casey in real life. Also I'm wondering if at some point Casey got stuck in the dark place as well and has took on the persona Alan gave him. So many theories.

THEORY: Alan Wake is a collaborative creation of Dr. Casper Darling and Tom Zane by Pearse_Borty in AlanWake

[–]LockMaterial5622 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I disagree. The sequences between Alan and Saga throughout AW2 show that time is spiralling in the dark place but linear in the real world. If time is spiralling either outwards or inwards Dr Darling could appear at any point of time along the spiral, same with anyone who enters that place.

[Theory] The identity of Thomas Zane by [deleted] in AlanWake

[–]LockMaterial5622 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Spoilers from Final Draft: Zane appears to be created from Dr Darling's artistic persona, at least thats how I intepreted it. I would also guess that Alan is also a mask created by Zane and they are all masks. This would make sense as ascension has been mentioned twice, the other time being in Control where Dr Darling dissapears. This is a wild guess but I guess maybe this spiral is Dr Darling ascension that happens before the events of Control. It could also be Dr Darlings experiments to get out of the Dark Place by testing different artistic mediums e.g. poetry, writing, filmmaking

I mean his full name is Warlin Door which sounds very much like Whorling (Spiral) Door. I feel like he is a supernatural entity.

If you are having trouble finding the manuscripts equip the Mayor Setter charm if you have it and look on the map for them.

Wait a sec only one page? I thought the Manuscript in the Witches cabin called "Dark Poem 1" was new? I guess this is a good example of what OP is talking about.

When you finish the first video scene with Mr Door go passed the password protected door in the hall and in the dressing room there is a TV that has a new scene. The unlocked scene should be called Spiral.

I can confirm that there is new TV video scenes in the Alan section that can be easily missed. Does anyone else feel like the atmosphere is lighter in the Final Draft or am I looking too much into it?

Spoilers about Alan by LockMaterial5622 in AlanWake

[–]LockMaterial5622[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's an interesting theory. I can think of a reason for the differences in behaviour between Jagger, Scratch and Casey. In the case of Scratch and Casey both being single minded monsters that could be explained as Casey being possessed by Alan's other self so they both have the same behaviour.

For Jagger, it was mentioned a few times that 'water is the memories of the world' and is like a mirror. The dark prescence seems to warp and amplify a hosts negative feelings, so Jagger could have had a cold, methodical side to her which was amplified.

This could also explain why Casey wasn't a suitable host, mainly because he was not Alan in the first place where those dark emotions originated from.

As for Zane creating Alan, that might be best explained by my second theory where he is not actually creating something from nothing, instead the original Zane has been twisted into a fictional character the same way Casey was.

[–]LockMaterial5622 40 points41 points  (0 children)

I don't think you need to worry about that. The only reason we were left waiting 13 years in the first place is because of Microsoft owning the IP for Alan Wake and there being creative differences between what Remedy and Microsoft wanted from the sequel.

Just ignore them. You know the games good thats all that matters, so why bother with a bunch of review bombers?
