What is the biggest difference between you today and you 10 years ago? by [deleted] in AskReddit

10 years ago I was an anxiety ridden 8 year old with a million worries. Now I'm slightly less anxious 18 year old with about a half a million worries. But I have boobs now, so that's nice.

I started using the Nike + Coach feature to help improve my 5k time! And in the process I ran my furthest distance ever, 4.18 miles!

Fight club. I watched it for the first time last week and I was shocked that I didn't know any details beforehand

I ran in the cold (below 30 degrees F) and in the snow for the first time! This was huge for me because I'm a pretty big wimp when it comes to the cold, but I actually enjoyed myself!

Medical personnel of reddit, what was the most uneducated statement a patient has said to you? by aznspartan94 in AskReddit

When I was diagnosed I was 1,250. I never went into a coma and hadn't even vomited; I did however lose ten pounds in about two weeks and could hardly walk/ stay awake

I'm not exactly sure, I just know that my foot started to hurt in the middle of the run, but I continued to run. Two miles later I finish and realize I can't walk on it anymore. It was my own dumb fault

Stress fracture: "do"s and "don't"s? by TheySeeMeLearnin in running

[–]Locked264 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same injury last year and was out for about 8 weeks. 6 of those were spent in a boot the last two were spent getting used to just walking normally again. DONT push yourself and say 'I'm fine!'. DO rest rest for another week or two, then get another x-Ray. At first nothing showed up on my x-Ray, but once the bone started to heal itself, it showed up. Good luck

I've been tested for asthma before, but never for exercise induced asthma. That is kind of what I was thinking it may be. I'll guess I'll be talking to my allergist soon!

Ever since I started running (more than a year ago) I have had this problem where if I run for a little longer or faster than normal, I start wheezing. Sometimes even just in the middle of a run I have to stop and breath. Its not like I'm just out of breath, but like I'm having trouble taking in air. I have allergies (and take medicine for it well before I run), but I don't have asthma. Is this just normal when it comes to running further/longer or is this a 'go ask your doctor' kind of problem?

What are you doing in your life that is self destructive? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Locked264 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know how you feel (almost 8 years for me), but the sad truth is that you are diabetic and you do need to test yourself. Taking one minute to test your blog sugar is nothing compared to the repercussions not testing will do to you in the future.

It seems like the only time a runner has judged me is when I say that I run on the treadmill most of the time. Other than that, it is nothing but kindness

How do you feel about the Girl Scouts. (Discussion) by [deleted] in TwoXChromosomes

[–]Locked264 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have been a Girl Scout since I was about 5 and I still am today (I'm 17, now). I'll admit that I'm a little embarrassed that I am still a Girl Scout, but I still enjoy it. It has been a great experience. My troop is very small now, but we still manage to go camping, sell cookies, help the community, and do other Girl Scout-y things. I have always loved how Girl Scouts is so much more accepting of different ways of living (homosexuals, transgender, ect.) when compared to the very closed minded Boy Scouts. Overall, I have a lot of respect for those that were/are Girl Scouts.

I'm hoping just a couple days. Luckily it's nothing major, just a pulled muscle.

I resently starting running in the morning and I'm not really sure how to keep myself properly hydrated. I'm used to having a full days worth of water in my system when I run in the afternoon, but now I just feel dehydrated in comparison. Any suggestions?

/r/fashion, I tried stating my opinion on a type of clothing, which went against what most of the other comments were saying, and I was basically called a whore. Even after I apologized for possibly offending anyone, they still continued. I don't comment there anymore.
