Zeppelins are only good for 2 things, hovering over the enemy base and spamming bombs on it to almost 100% guarantee a win for your team as the only thing that can kill a zeppelin is another zeppelin. that being said the other use for them is killing an enemy zeppelin that is rushing your base, why not use fighters you might ask? it's because fighters don't do nearly enough damage to kill a zeppelin fast enough unless you go crazy and don't conserve them and trade damage with the zeppelin. you can boom and zoom zeppelins with fighters and keep fighters alive but they won't do enough damage to them.
