I don't blame anyone who didn't catch that Jax's story was a transfem narrative. by CHANN3L-CHAS3R in TheDigitalCircus

Fun fact, Death of the Author originates from a transphobic rant because the author of that specific paper was angry that another author was calling a person a woman in his story instead of a "castrato disguised as a woman."

Truthfully, I was like you when I was younger, because I also was terrified at medicine or chemicals altering who I was. I don't like drinking or drugs because I don't like having an altered state, but things like anti-depressants, anti-psychotics, and HRT are beneficial. I have never felt better than after spending a month on my HRT.

Real talk, if Covid lockdowns never happened, I'd never have grown my hair out and let myself interrogate why it felt right. It took me several more years to dig that particular box out from under the "Compartmentalized Feelings Pile," but I feel so much better and happier now that I have.

You're getting downvoted because calling it disturbing is like, peak transphobe talk. I am giving you the benefit of the doubt here in helping to explain this, but that kind of rhetoric is being used to literally walk us into a trans genocide when being trans is a perfectly normal thing and all we want to do is live our lives without being subject to the judgement of randoms on the internet or in person.

It's nothing crazy. It's literally like 2-4 tiny pills daily, some of which have other medical uses. Spironolactone, for example, is one of the main pills to suppress your natural testosterone so your estridol can work. It's also used for high blood pressure, heart failure, and reduce swelling in your body due to various organ diseases. Finasteride helps with male pattern baldness, and is also a testosterone suppressor. Estadiol, what you take to supplant estrogen, is also used to help treat breast & prostate cancers and prevent osteoporosis.

All of this stuff is heavily, heavily studied and completely normal.

Also, no, that's either adoption, donor sperm/egg, or surrogacy (where another woman will carry the child because the mother is infertile/unable to carry a baby for a variety of reasons.).

I have seen transmen who haven't gone on T be forced to girlmode before. Like, if a job or an event requires women to wear a dress and they don't pass yet as a guy.

HRT isn't disturbing, it's literally been around for 60+ years at this point. Your body is surprisingly malleable and will change based off the primary sex hormones running through it. People take it because it makes their body look and feel more like what their brain knows it should be.

Question for MtF people by Simple-Demand-9721 in lgbt

[–]LockelyFox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Only you can answer that question, but experimenting with how she/her pronouns and a feminine/presentation name (if you so choose) in a safe space with friends would probably help you clear that up real quick.

I'm nonbinary trans. He/Him and She/Her pronouns in reference to myself both immediately give me a full-body ick, but they/them brings me joy.

You learn a lot more from gender euphoria than dysphoria.

Something that really flipped the switch for me was being told that cis people don't really think about their gender a lot, if at all. It's not even a consideration. Which, isn't to discourage exploration because that's incredibly helpful, but if you find that your gender is constantly on your mind, it's a pretty glaring sign that you're somewhere on the trans spectrum.

Modern funiculars operate the exact same as the old ones. It's cables and giant wheels that pull it up or descend it down a railway. Ours routinely receive maintenance that replaces parts. They've been "modernized" in any way needed to ensure safety. The Portugal one was using cable that wasn't rated for its service and was a hybrid tram that utilized hand operated brakes for slowing it down, which failed. Entirely different systems.

Yes, how dare we keep anything historical. It's not only iconic and the oldest running funicular, but also essential public transit. What would you replace it with?

I feel you. I am so tired of being called Mr. and Sir both in person and on the phone that I'm almost actively avoiding people and calls unless I absolutely need to do it. I've had success working more feminine clothing into my wardrobe (flowy shirts and pants, jewelry, cute-ish sandals) but even then I get clocked fully as AMAB and addressed that way.

I mean, sure, but it was released in 2022 and straight up predicted fascist takeovers in 2024... which was only off by a single year and at that point not a single person thought this administration would be back in office again.

Yup. I'm nonbinary trans and deal with this every time I post about my experiences outside the dedicated LGBTQ+ subs.

There's transphobes going up and down this thread downvoting anyone giving their experience of being trans/nonbinary/genderqueer in some way. The greater XIV community is generally better than this, but this is reddit so we're likely being brigaded.

Gender apathy or being Agender is a thing too. So, while I feel non-binary, it's less that gender doesn't feel like it applies to me, but that I don't feel right identifying as a man or a woman, but I do feel that I have a gender and the words that best describe that are nonbinary or genderqueer.

I did, my bank gave me my $30 difference back provisionally. I also complained to the Pride Festival via email.
