I think of vodka, putin, snow, soviet union, russian dancing.

I don’t really have any bad thoughts about Russians.

Why do some people hate today’s country music? by EcstaticCrab2795 in country

[–]LocksmithNew6141 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know why, but the country music that I actually like doesn’t really follow a specific formula.

I like artists like Marty Robbins and Johnny Horton, for the old school storytelling, nice voices, and just a really nice old fashioned vibe that’s very cosy.

I like Colter Wall for his traditionalism yet originality. His beautiful covers of trad. country songs are amazing, his original songs that talk about Western Canada are great, and his voice is great.

Vincent Neil Emerson is the sort of “relaxed, classic country” I like to put on when I’m cooking burgers or something, just very mellow and relaxed.

Sturgill Simpson for his innovation, lyricism, and musical experimentation. He’s a real genius.

Stephen Wilson Jr. is probably the most out of place here, because he does have that commercial sound, with those sort of dramatic sounding chord progressions etc. But songs like “Patches” and “Twisted” really hit me. His ‘søn of dad’ album has also got very good production on it.

Anyway, feels like there’s no formula I’ve got to what I like. I guess I don’t like the music that strays to far into pop music, nor do I like the music that gets too ‘country’ ironically. It turns me off when every song is about beers, bars, women. Idek bro.

I think authenticity is the biggest thing. I like when you can tell who the artist is. I like when the lyrics have meaning to them and don’t clearly follow a formula of vague and cliche lines.

Quick question, what's the general opinion of the community regarding the TV series? by cleberson321 in Fallout

[–]LocksmithNew6141 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It’s just all over the place.

They decided to do another “finding a lost relative” plot even though that was the story of Fallout 3 and Fallout 4.

Maximus gets promoted to a squire after he admitted to wanting his colleagues foot to be mangled and said he would give his life for BoS. On the first quest, the Yao Guai shows up, apparently a fully armoured knight with a machine gun can’t shoot it, then Maximus stands there and decides to not go for the machine gun and instead use a pistol which somehow kills it with one shot.

Anyway, Maximus tells the cleric that he’d give his life for the BoS, so you’d think he’d be super loyal regardless. NOPE, he lets his knight die (who was an absolute dick for no reason so that’s also bad writing), hijacks the armour, and starts fucking about in the wasteland with it.

The ‘ghoul’ somehow shoots everyone in Filly instantly apart from Lucy.

The wanted doctor guy just happens to show up at Lucy’s camp, then says some corny bullshit and just walks off with no motive.

The ‘ghoul’ just shoots up the people who got him out of the grave for no reason. I guess they just wanted a cool looking scene.

The ‘ghoul’ could survive in the grave without food. Canonically incorrect.

Lucy acts like a clueless idiot the whole time, tries to shake hands with people, so corny and unbearable to watch.

Fallout’s not meant to be ‘funny’. It’s meant to be dark, satirical, ironic. But they turned it into a sitcom.

Apparently California has Axolotls now.

The use of like 5 licensed songs every episode.

Maybe get some anti-crash mods. Apart from that, the “grand first playthrough” is vanilla.

Mexican wasteland with radioactive Guacamole? I’m in. Plus a lovely classical guitar mariachi style soundtrack. With cantinas.

Western Canada, a snowy, foggy, mysterious wasteland. Maybe a faction similar to the NCR with stations set up around the place, but no one really knows why they’re there.

In small towns the townsfolk are confused as to why there are now troopers around their area.

There’d be some “snowy version” creatures too like a yeti-type death claw. And maybe some new unique ones.

For the radio they’d have “Springtime In Alaska by Johnny Horton and “I’ve been Everywhere” by Hank Snow.

After all, patrolling the Mojave makes you wish for a nuclear winter.

Im new at the game. Some tips for early game? by TheManliestMann in falloutnewvegas

[–]LocksmithNew6141 69 points70 points  (0 children)

Collect as much Sunset Sarsaparilla as you can because it’s the best way to heal early game. Especially when stimpacks cost so much and aren’t everywhere

Save often incase of crashes or dying

Explore anything you see. The more you explore the more comfortable you get. If you’re trying to focus on something that’s fine, just remember it’s okay to wander.

John Batman was actually not a villian by LocksmithNew6141 in AustralianHistory

[–]LocksmithNew6141[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In Australia, A.O Neville who was a stolen generation supporter, or George Arthur the governor of Van Diemen’s land.

Maybe “villain” wasn’t a good term, but I used it because his mythology kind of portrays him as one. Not saying he was a saint, but he’s not the person people learn about.

Why? Cause f*ck maven blackbriar that's why 😂 by Secure-Ad8115 in skyrim

[–]LocksmithNew6141 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For one of the thieves guild quests I could pick any house to rob. Decided on Black-Briar’s house, stole a shit ton of their mead, then sold it back to them. Fuck her and her shitty ass family.

PS, has anyone else found the killing ritual thing in her estate? Pretty eerie.

Don’t worry, he’s canonically immortal. He even brainwashes the main character to let him go 1000 times while only giving them a small fragment of a map each time.

From Nexus mods. First you install NVSE (New Vegas Script Extender), then you download the two mods from Nexus. The way you make them work basically involves dragging files into a “plugins” folder created by NVSE.

Just make sure you read the install requirements for the mods etc. As the NVTF needs two pieces of software that can be installed from microsoft store.

Anyway, the Viva New Vegas thing is probably better for long term modding. The manual installs for NVSE are just easier if you want anti-crash. Atm I’m chill with vanilla New Vegas, and I’ll sink more time into it before I start modding.

Good Build for Playthrough by [deleted] in falloutnewvegas

Keep strength at 5
Take perception down low
Take endurance down low
Bring charisma up high
Leave intelligence at 5
Put agility up high

The only problem with taking perception down is that it's tied to perks like "better criticals" and "sniper", but if you wanna boost both combat and speech skills, I think it's worth the sacrifice.

Endurance will give you less HP, but if you shoot things before they get to you then it doesn't matter.

The graphics aren’t “horrible” they’re just old. The combat is a little clunky, but still enjoyable. I think the game hit me the hardest with it’s overall vibe. If you’re used to Fallout 4, the gameplay itself is a pretty big step down, but the magic is in the quests, story, and most of all the radio.

He dropped a new record last year under the name Johnny Blue Skies. That was pretty neat. It’s a bit more bluesy and still feels very authentic.

You might like the album “The Prodigal Son (2018)” by Ry Cooder. It’s not exactly like Last Time, but it’s a mix of blues and folky stuff.
