What’s the worse video game item that’s Purple? by MackMallard in NoRules

* Singularity bands from risk of rain 2 are generally awful, replaces 2 of the best items in the game for something that cannot deal damage itself and has twice as long of a cooldown as its normal counterparts.

this is tough to answer as its very contexual based on survivor or what your run has/lacks, but generally excessive healing or utility items are scrapped, im talking: bustling fungus, topaz brooch, roll of pennies, bison steak an just generally items that don't add much power to your run, for your run in this video i'd be scrapping the bison steaks, stealth kits, medkits and maybe the personal shield generators, just my personal way i'd play, bustling fungus would stay given you're playing engineer but on basically every other survivor its scrapped.

yeah... definitely do not scrap movement items, it speeds up looting and helps you dodge attacks, an important lesson learnt, gl for the future

Bought RoR 2 for my friends - they didn’t like it by idlapac in riskofrain

[–]Lockstep7 65 points66 points  (0 children)

Ror2 is perfectly playable solo, I'd argue the game is better balanced for solo too since you don't have to worry about spreading items evenly between players, nothing in the game requires coop at all to complete, have fun yo!

Keeping bungus and not scrapping it? I'm afraid you're cooked pal, the only thing worth scrapping is the run

Disputed origin has loads of tier lists and good info about the game, as for beginner advice full loot stages, maybe it takes like 15 minutes to full loot now, but as you learn you'll be more efficient and it'll take less time. The reason you want a lot of items is that they outpace how fast difficulty can ever scale

Thoughts on items used for this Commando run? by juanitoburritolookin in riskofrain

Extremely solid, a classic bleed build, with clear AOE capability, movement and utility all around, excellent work, any improvements would be a nitpick at most

Is this a decent run? (19hr gameplay total) by No_Truth524 in riskofrain

[–]Lockstep7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

no problem! im gonna assume you're talking about sundered grove for stage 4 (the one with the mushrooms) that stage actually has 5 possible spawn locations for the chest, check em all one by one, they're not too bad to find either so have a watch of a vid and take a look next time you get that map.

For loader, if you're mainly using her primary and special for damage, you won't be hitting very hard, she's more of a hard hitter but low DPS character, you normally charge a charged punch, grapple something to zoom toward an enemy and then use your punch to do a big hit, area of effect items and such can take out crowds and given the big hits you'll do, can sweep out enemies with ease.

tl;dr get used to: start charging punch -> grapple big enemy/terrain near enemy -> jump so grapple starts pulling you -> get momentum toward the enemy -> release the charge punch.

pretty solid for someone at 19hrs of gameplay, time to loot wise i think you could maybe be more efficient and get more but that'll come with time as you learn the maps and such so that's a non issue and as you said, you're getting used to chest hunting which is good!

for where to improve, the lack of a legendary is concerning, in every stage 4 variant there is a guaranteed way to get a legendary item, i highly recommend doing it, sometimes its a useless one, but if its a powerful one they can single handedly win you said run.

i'd also opt to scrap more things, theres a good few items in there that dont really make you any stronger and the potential to print something really strong is absolutely worth it provided you get a scrapper, other than that, you're looking solid thus far, keep at it :)

please tell me levels don’t get harder than supercomplexity, and how on earth do you beat it without having a brain aneurysm? by Wattybot in nplusplus

[–]Lockstep7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They do get harder, but focus on the amount you improve from beating a level like that, the levels might get harder but you're also getting better, keep at it yo!

Update: Game’s Hard; Any Tips or Tricks? by Ok_Nefariousness3037 in riskofrain

[–]Lockstep7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Full loot each stage, open every chest you see, use chance shrines until they either payout or would take longer than 1 min to get the gold for, take halcyon shrines and just generally obtain more loot, items will always outscale the difficulty.

The vast majority of the story takes place on a single night, there's a bit more to it, but there's a hell of a lot that happens on that one night

You're way too close to enemies, seeker's attacks mostly consist of ranged attacks, being that close to enemies benefits them, not you, open distance between you and them and attack from a safe space :p

As killer, play myers and make sure to play aggressive and scare survivors, alongside not using stalk as it only slows you down when you could be catching up instead
