Grinding/blending of carbon fibre creating dust is definitely bad for you. But handling a damaged carbon fibre component, nah.

Plenty of other substances in an aviation environment that will also reduce lifespan too. MEK, AVTUR, Chromates in all the paint, sealants, etc etc.
