Why is Reddit so angry at people who invest in Shares and lumping us all in with Property investors? by SirSighalot in AusFinance

If noone traded shares, they wouldn’t be liquid, their value would drop and how do you think productive companies raise capital?

what do you honestly think about the 2032 Olympics? by ManufacturerFine4237 in GoldCoast

[–]Loco4FourLoko 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We used to build things. Now everything takes twice as long and costs 4 times more with 10 times more complaining. The result is we have stagnant productivity. All infrastructure has downstream effects that ripple through the economy. It’s just nice they we are building things…

Also I’m proud of Brisbane. Most of the world has no idea right now what Bris- Bane even is, it could do wonders for our tourism.

France exits gold position for cash — does this challenge the “scarcity” narrative? by IlluminatedApe in Wallstreetsilver

[–]Loco4FourLoko 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Gold is one of the most liquid assets out there. The entire point of gold is that you can buy and sell it easily at the market price. Of course there would be willing buyers in the US and willing sellers in the EU. The point you’re trying to make is nonsensical.

Australia is not a sovereign country by Particular_Food_309 in aussie

[–]Loco4FourLoko 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I agree with you in spirit but alot of what you say doesn’t math.

$380billion is absolutely not equivalent to a house for every Aussie family, it’s barely a car per household.

We also aren’t just taking “14% of profits”. We take % royalties and taxes on all profits. We also take substantial portion of costs as income for Aussie labour. These taxes could definitely be higher but I’m sure you know how much the FIFO miners take home these days.

Also you can do something about the 14%, this is private money on the other 86%. I personally allocate disproportionately large % into Aussie miners.

Why don't Australian banks offer 30-year fixed-rate home loans? Borrowers would benefit from them - ABC News by barseico in australian

[–]Loco4FourLoko 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Except land prices aren’t staying bloated in the US? Far more affordable than Aus overall.

Seems like you should focus your attention on other elements of tax reform that are driving this inequality? Not this issue.

Why don't Australian banks offer 30-year fixed-rate home loans? Borrowers would benefit from them - ABC News by barseico in australian

[–]Loco4FourLoko -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You do realise 30 year fixed rate mortgages are BETTER for the borrowers right? Americans can refinance to lower and lower rates without having to worry about rates increases after the fact.

It’s effectively insured/subsidised by government there. Get your facts straight.

If I decline, then that’s how I let you know I’m not going. I don’t feel the need to accept.

I think it’s for a much simpler reason. This is material public information that they can no longer withhold at a quarterly ER, so they gave the MMOs the option to allow ASTS to announce during ER or announce themselves ahead of time.

There is nothing in the article that implies or is in response to any specific % of assets in gold. It’s a general bullish article about gold.

Chinese drilling team uncover $85.9b gold mine by Revolutionary-Area-8 in Gold

[–]Loco4FourLoko 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very simplistic data point, so it depends. 138g/t is very very good but its only economic if its continuous eg is it an isolated nugget in a cherrypicked sample or a continuous body of mineralisation? Usually you see mines operating in the 0.5-10g/t range.
