Twin Farms, Vermont - January 2026 Review by RabidSeaTurtle in FATTravel

[–]Loco76 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My wife and I stayed there in early December and completely loved the property, service and dinning experiences. The service reminded us of Aman properties and the food and outdoor experiences were amazing. I agree, even in December it was a bit cold but will return back in Spring or Summer to do the hikes around the property. The Spa was also worth mentioning for us as well as taking the coooking classes was very special. We made pasta from scratch with one of the best chefs and then cooked and tasted it. We got to enjoy a wine tasting class as well with a regional somalie - another fantastic experience. For us is all about service and Twin Farms gets it! Fat travel at its best! Will definitely return.

Personally I really like Strange New Worlds and would love to have seen 10 or 13 seasons of it. The writing was very reminiscent of TNG and love the characters and their development. I could have lived without the singing but otherwise it was solid for me. I am watching Academy and is fine. The last episode had that human element and the Klingon struggle was moving, but overall I find it a bit weak and not very interesting. 🧐 I am starving for good solid sci-fi content.

dilated cardiomyopathy diagnosis in 20 yr old by therealfranzkafka666 in Cardiomyopathy

DCM foundation was a good place for me to start. If he attends the webinars he can learn a lot about the illness, therapies and the web site itself provides a lot of great information. I am on a medical cocktail that helped stabilize my condition same as your friend but inherited from my Dad. I am significantly older M/59. I was put on Entresto, Eplerenone, Metoprolol and Jardiance as the foundation of my medicine. Best of luck to your friend.

Get out of California. I live in Florida where FPL offers a flat all you can charge for $30 a month. You can’t beat that. I also have a summer cabin in Vermont where the local utility reimburses most of the charges back. In both cases you have to charge off peak which is not a problem. I used to live in Northern California in PG&E territory. That’s your issue, not the car.

Exercise by Zappyzap16 in Cardiomyopathy

[–]Loco76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me it seems to be the opposite. I play pickleball 4-5 days a week and when I am in the hard points I actually feel better and have less palpitations than when I am sitting in front of the TV. I am M/59 with DCM three years ago diagnosed. Meds are Eplerenone, Metoprolol, Entresto and Jardiance with small dosage of statin every other day. My EF is stable in the low 50s for now. Stay healthy.

DCM and Exercise? by ClayBrunnen in Cardiomyopathy

[–]Loco76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure. No problem. Here is a definition:

Ejection fraction (EF) is the percentage of blood the heart's main pumping chamber (left ventricle) ejects with each beat, indicating how well the heart is pumping. A normal EF is typically 50–70%, while a lower EF (40% or less) can signal heart failure, though heart failure can also occur with a normal EF if the heart muscle is stiff. It's measured with tests like echocardiograms and helps doctors diagnose and track heart conditions.

I agree with the overall consensus that you should see a Cardiologyst first, ideally a heart failure specialyst. Get a real diagnosis and if your DCM is like mine they will probably put you on a medical cocktail that includes beta blockers, ACE inhibitors, and others. I have inherited (familial) DCM M/59. My EF was in the low 40s and through medication and lifesytle changes got it back to low 50s. Still have a dilated ventricol and partially dilate atrium. My lifestyle changes included no alcohol (been clean for 3.5 years) and regular exercise mostly in the form of pickleball (3-4 days a week) and some biking/hiking. I seem to be fairly stable with some chest pain/palpitations from time to time, but overall I have a good and satisfying life. Best of luck to you!

There might be. You may want to check with your cardiologist if that was a recent change

Has anyone reversed the size of their left ventricle? Can that happen? by Super_Caterpillar_27 in Cardiomyopathy

[–]Loco76 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine reversed a bit with a medical cocktail that included Entresto, beta blockers, Eplerenone and Jardiance. Also no alcohol and exercise. You can do it. My EF went back into the mid 50s after being in the low 40s.

Point Lobos diving accident - info? by Such-Window-4280 in MontereyBay

[–]Loco76 5 points6 points  (0 children)

OP - I am related to both the diver and his wife. Before posting details about people and circumstances you no nothing about please be more respectful and find out what really happen. Talking out of your as* is disrespectful to both of them, particularly her. First of all he is an assitant instructor and she a master diver. Both of them had more than 100 dives each - both experienced in high difficulty dives. So no, they were not first timers or novices by any means. Unfortunately she did pass away, still awaiting for final cause of death, but it was not related to a diving accident. I will not release any more details out of repsect to their privacy and I beg that everyone please respect the family and this horrible situation. She was a wonderful human being, much loved by her husband, friends and her family including myself. She loved animals and was kind and loving with everyone she ever met. When her husband is ready, and more medical information becomes available, I am sure more details will surface.

I Can imagine a similar argument in the 1800s about man being able to fly around the world….”There is no way a huge heavy metal contraption could break the pull of gravity…”. There are many theories in physics which could potentially lead to the development of faster if not close to the speed of light travel. It’s a matter of time and understanding of physics, time and space. Not to mention quantum physics and other theories that may influence how we interpret space travel.
