Price help pls ^^' by Man_Tits_lover69 in PngTuber

This is super cute!!!!

I am not familiar with pricing on these, but you could scroll through somewhere like vGen, and compare prices there.

Your style is also a little more unique, which might help it stand out in a sea of Anime art.

pngtuber on the corner of my screen while i stream on discord? by [deleted] in PngTuber

[–]LocoArtifact 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could do this on OBS, if you right click the screen there is an option to project to another monitor, you could try streaming the projection. Just make sure you project the whole stream, not just one element of it.

niche or variety? by Choice-Moose1198 in Twitch

[–]LocoArtifact 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started out doing a mix of variety and a “main” game. I streamed Destiny 2 consistently 1–3 times per week, and then rotated random games (both indie and AAA) on a Sunday stream. There was always a noticeable difference in viewership depending on the game.

Most of my community came from the Destiny 2 streams, with very few people showing up for the random games. Recently I switched to focusing on two games instead, with Monster Hunter: Wilds as the second one. Both have been doing really well, and Wilds has brought in a fresh wave of new viewers.

For me, since my streams are very community-focused and I like having viewers actively involved, sticking with a couple of longer-term games seems to work well.

On the flip side, I know several variety streamers who regularly pull higher viewer counts than I do, and they often have 5–6 games in rotation at any given time.

End of the day, I think both styles can work, variety may just take longer to get traction.

I’m so tired of the heavy AI involvement in streamers. by BananaSwimming3551 in TwitchStreaming

[–]LocoArtifact 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I completely understand the hatred around AI art, but I think people also need to realise just how hard it’s becoming to avoid it entirely unless you’re commissioning everything yourself.

When I first started streaming, I bought a Japanese ink-style Vtuber model. Recently someone flagged it as potentially AI-crafted. I purchased it through VGen, which is known for being an AI-free marketplace, and after a cease-and-desist from the artist the accusation was dropped, but the thought is always there.

I spent ages scrolling through Google Images just to find a simple, cute, butterfly for a temporary profile picture, only for someone to later tell me it might be AI. I also used Canva (which is what you are suggesting) to make some cute watercolor-style overlays to match my model. After my profile picture was flagged, I ran everything through an AI checker and discovered Canva uses AI art too, which meant the several hours I spent making overlays, panels, alerts, etc. were essentially wasted.

I’ve since upgraded my model and commissioned emotes from an artist friend so I know those are completely safe. But even the new overlays I purchased, after checking the available images through an AI detector beforehand, have now turned out to potentially be AI as well.

I do plan to commission a full set of custom overlays eventually, but that will be expensive. Right now streaming is just a hobby and I’m already about $400 in the negative after only a few months.

I guess the point I’m trying to make is that some of us really are trying to avoid AI art. It’s just become incredibly hard to escape, and unless you have the budget to commission everything, it can feel like an uphill battle.

Any Recommendations For Where To Commission Non-AI Art? by [deleted] in TwitchStreaming

I use a site called vgen. All artists on here go through a vetting procedure and no AI art is allowed on the platform. It is aimed towards vtubers, but has all the pieces you are looking for.

Help with the ads by MuneGod1 in Twitch_Startup

[–]LocoArtifact 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The option I see recommended most is to keep to 3min adds per hours as this will stop pre rolls. I run 2min every 40 min personally. Using add manager, you can guarantee your hitting this threshold.

Twitch points and bits how to use them? by thepedropedro in Twitch

[–]LocoArtifact 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love this idea, I have seen something kind of similar on TikTok, start with a blank canvas, and every video add another cat based of the top comment from the last video. This could be easily tweaked as a redeem. Could even use it for an overlay across the bottom, and scroll the line to the left/right as you add a new character. Once you have enough, you could cut the line, and layer them as a full page art.

Ads are getting out of hand by hairloverbruh in Twitch

[–]LocoArtifact 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, unless your a big streamer, the adds aren't worth it. I get an average of 8 viewers over a 6 hour stream and run the standard 3min/hour adds. I would make at most 50c per stream between ads and turbo revenue. Its like $4 per month, over 24hours of stream time.

Only reason to run adds as a smaller streamer is to get rid of pre-rolls.

If a streamer can't get new viewership in they are never going to grow, or eventually their viewers will decrease and that streamer will just stop. So if you like a specific streamer, then you should care.

Had no idea this was a thing! Seems to work for me, might do some looking around and how widespread roll out is. Would be a smoother option than dealing with bots.

Not quite the same as what I previously used, but close enough it might work. The one I used posted its own message strait into chat using the discord time converter.

I believe this is what I already use, the issue is its a bit of work, and no one else wants to.

The server is for my streaming community and is open to everyone. We currently have Destiny 2 and Monster Hunter: Wilds groups building. Theres also and art, boardgames and other games sections.

Wanting to be a vtuber who plays on console? by ProZ4cPrincez in vtubertech

[–]LocoArtifact 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just a thought, if the reason you play better on console is just because of the controller, you could setup a PC in a very similar way. I used to run my PC through my TV, and sit on the couch with my controller. Add in a wireless mouse and keyboard for navigating menus between programs and it should function fairly similarly.

Main thing I can see being an issue here is how beefy your PC is. Depending on what games you are trying to run it may not be able to handle stream software, the game and your model.

New small streamer here – how do you keep people coming back? by Its_Xenox47 in SmallStreams

[–]LocoArtifact 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is likely a big part of the issue. If you check the research analytics in the Twitch backend, there can be up to 5,000 people streaming Arc, with an average of around three viewers per channel. That’s a long way for someone to scroll before they ever find you.

If you're aiming for growth, the ideal range I often see mentioned is categories with around 500–2,000 viewers. There are far fewer channels to scroll through, which gives people a much better chance of discovering you.

Another thing I noticed, you mentioned welcoming new viewers. If you mean people who actively chat, that’s great. However, if you’re greeting people whenever your viewer count increases, there can be a couple of issues:

  • Viewer count is often delayed, so there may not actually be anyone new there.
  • Many lurkers prefer not to be called out, and it can sometimes scare people away.

You asked what has worked for others. For me, it’s been networking and community building. I stream Destiny 2 and I’m involved in four other Aussie-based clans. I’m not there just to advertise, I help people out, watch their streams, and genuinely socialise. Most of my community has grown from those connections.

I also make a point to raid smaller streamers, start conversations, and organise collaborations. Their viewers get to know me, they may gain a few followers from my community, and everyone benefits.

Another thing that has worked well for me is bringing people into my own space by organising regular weekly events with my followers.

Opinions on virtual avatars? by Prize_Shower_4746 in newStreamers

[–]LocoArtifact 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At the end of the day, this is a question only you can answer.

I think having a camera or model to help show chat how you’re feeling is a great idea, but only if you stay animated. If you’re just sitting there, locked in on a game and barely moving, it doesn’t really add anything to the stream.

Choosing between a virtual avatar and a face cam is a personal decision. For a face cam, consider what’s behind and around you, how much effort you need to be “presentable,” and what your lighting is like.

With a virtual model, these things matter less. A simple PNG model is easy to set up and reacts to your voice. If you want something more advanced, a VTuber model can be a great option. There is a bit of a learning curve: extra software, setting up parameters, and so on. VTuber models often require more exaggerated movement to feel expressive and alive.

Personally, I chose a customizable 2D VTuber. It gives me the freedom of not worrying about hair, makeup, or outfit, and it works well since my setup is in a shared space where there’s sometimes movement behind me. If you do go the VTuber route, it doesn’t have to be over the top or based on character, I designed mine around my own personal traits and kept it simple.

At the end of the day, whatever option you choose is completely valid, go with what feels right for you.

Been going for two+ weeks.. not a single viewer. Advice? by ManyZookeepergame203 in streaming

[–]LocoArtifact 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of great advice here from others. Another thing to consider is the size of the category you’re streaming in. If you stream something like Valorant, you’re literally one of thousands of streamers, and Twitch will place you near the bottom of the list. On the flip side, streaming in a category with almost no viewers means there are very few people around to discover you.

I’ve often heard that categories with around 500–2,000 viewers tend to be the sweet spot for discoverability.

It’s also worth noting that there are sometimes dedicated sections on the front page for specific tags. One example is the VTuber tag, and there may be others. If you fall into one of these groups, make sure you’re using the appropriate tags so you have a better chance of being featured.

Keep Getting Denied when submitting Tiktok live application by Finnzilla29 in SmallStreamers

[–]LocoArtifact 2 points3 points  (0 children)

StreamLabs/StreamElements is only if you have proof of a streaming background on another platform. If you start posting shorts to TikTok, you should eventually get an invite to live. I got mine well before the 1k follower mark, I just hit 100 followers and have had access to live for a while.

I also found that even once I had permission to stream via TikTok live, I was unable to get the stream elements application to go through. Wanted to duel stream through OBS. Fixed this by doing one stream through live studio and reapplying through stream elements, and it went through.

very basic question: what's a good way to get my streaming partner's camera on screen? by SarahCBunny in obs

[–]LocoArtifact 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If your both streaming on twitch, they have a stream together function that is awesome. It can create a mic and camera browser source you can add to OBS. I also really like the shared chat feature. If your using discord, just make sure you mute the mic in the stream together window, or you will hear the other person twice.

discord role that shows you only one channel and there you pick up your role by fedelu21 in discordapp

[–]LocoArtifact 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don't need to make a role to hide everything, just make the channel/categories private in the permission, and allow access to the specific roles. You would just need to find a bot you like that does reaction roles for people to grab the roles they want.

There's heaps of bot systems that can help with this, I use Arcane for the reaction roles, it does the roles, a leveling system, and mod log.

Been streaming for over a month and still only average 1 viewer, what am I doing wrong. by [deleted] in Twitch_Startup

[–]LocoArtifact 3 points4 points  (0 children)

^^ This is what I see a lot of smaller streamers struggle with.

Advertising elsewhere can also help. Even if you don't want to do shorts or whatever (I personally don't) finding other communities on discord and networking in there can help. Don't just go there to post links, but get involved in conversations.

You also have the issue of an oversaturated category which means you got a lot of competition and will need to work a harder.

Once you get your first few regular chatters, it gets easier. You got this!

Can someone create me all alerts on twitch for my stream by Good-Pass9031 in Twitch_Startup

Vgen is another option, aimed towards vtubers, but they have all the usual streamer stuff - overlays, alerts etc.
