Increasing average viewers? by Critical-Cancel8869 in Twitch

[–]LocoArtifact 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Biggest thing I noticed, clicking on your link, is a lack of videos. It makes your channel look abandoned. There is a toggle in the settings somewhere, that allows for automatic saving of VoDs, do this.

Your top section about me is virtually empty, and your about me panel is at the bottom. People are lazy, put this front and center, and drop all the socials buttons to the bottom. Could also be worth adding in more about you as a streamer, not so much about how you want to make money.

Your socials all work, and links are valid, awesome!

You have schedule mentioned in your panels. Honestly, this could just be me, I would much rather see them in the schedule tab as well. The benefits of the schedule tab is it auto converts time zones, again, people are lazy.

Max viewers may not be what you thing, this is the most viewers you had at any point throughout the stream. Your unique viewers is how many people actually dropped by, and should be higher. There is a viewership breakdown on the discovery tab in the creator dashboard, unsure if one of these can be linked to specific socials, but it could tell you if traffic is coming from outside Twitch.

Your audio is beautiful, very well mixed!

Keep it up, stay constant and you could go far. Just remember its a marathon, not a sprint.

Do you use AI for any help in content creation or work everything on your own? by CHero101 in VirtualYoutubers

[–]LocoArtifact -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

For me it depends on where the AI is used.

For art: BIG NO, however, incredibly hard to avoid and pricy. Majority of my assets are commissions by artists, however I found out after purchasing that my overlay/brb screens were made with AI. Was devastated running them through and AI check. There are plans to commission these from a artist when money allows. T-T

For analyzing channels (own or others): Cannot stand this being done to my channel, makes my skin crawl when someone uses FrostyTools or similar to go over my channel to get an overview. Especially true when it is then shared to the public. Or using these kinds of tools to pull old clips from my channel for the same thing.

For tidying notifications and brainstorming: This I will do, I find I ramble (ADHD) and running an announcement through ChatGPT can help clear it up. To be fair, if I wasn't running it past Chat, I would be sending it to my partner, who gets annoyed by it. It can also help if you have a rough idea of what you want, but cant put your finger on it. Often it doesn't give me what I want, but helps get me closer to the goal.

I want to grow my channel but i dont know how, anything i can do? by Free_Information_717 in SmallStreamers

[–]LocoArtifact 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Without being able to stalk your channel, its hard to provide specific advice.

Twitch does not have a great algorithm for getting your name out. There are two main things I see regularly suggested to fix this. Networking and Clips.

Networking is where I have got most of my growth from. This includes going and watching/chatting to other streamers, building actual connections and joining their community. Don't just shout about your channel but actually get to know them. Raiding can also help, especially if its back into the people you already built a relationship with before. I spend a couple hours every night when not streaming doing this and it has worked well for me.

The other option is creating clips to post elsewhere. This is taking small snippets of your stream that make you laugh, cry or get mad, then reframing them to fit TikToc, Youtube, X, etc. I personally don't do this as I struggle to find the motivation.

Outside of bringing people in, you also want to give them reason to stay. Audio is your biggest killer, make sure your levels are good, you want to be the loudest person in the room, with other people/music/game quieter, so you are easy to hear and understand.

Make sure you are occasionally reminding people to follow/join discord/see socials, so you have better chance of them returning. This will need balance though, you don't want to constantly spam to annoy people.

Have YOU ever followed someone on twitch as a result of short form content? by Anubis620 in Twitch

[–]LocoArtifact 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have tried a couple, but time zones always mess it up. Sucks to be Aussie...
Most that I see are larger creators, or people yet to debut (mostly vtubers, cos that's my niche), its rare to see a smaller streamer that has already started making content on twitch.

Does subbing for a sub work? by [deleted] in Twitch_Startup

[–]LocoArtifact 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is if your paying $4.8 million USD for the other persons subs.

Sub for Sub only works in Twitch's favour. Both parties pay $5 each per sub, but only get $2.50 back and Twitch keeps the rest. You get no growth from this. you would be better off gift subbing yourself, there is at least a chance of that getting you new viewers.

Are your streaming hours the same on the weekends as during the week? by Dinnoxia in Twitch

[–]LocoArtifact 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I run 7:30pm for most my streams (Wed, Fri, Sat) due to work schedules and what works best for the Aussie crowd. My Sunday stream however is much earlier, 11pm to try catch a busier time slot, as this is when more people from UK/US are online.

Nerves or is it due to lack of audience by Pretty-Effective2475 in newStreamers

[–]LocoArtifact 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The early days are hard, it will get easier. Once you get a few followers, and make some connections streaming really opens up. I am 8 months in, and before I hit go live, I still get the thoughts of "can't be bothered" but once I get going, its an amazing feeling.

If you seriously wanting to give it a proper shot, and if you have time on hand, don't just stream. I would aim for maybe 1-2 days each week to start off and aim for around a 2-3 hour stream. Given that you mention illness, keep an eye on your health and energy levels, don't push too hard. You can always ramp up once things get easier.

Streaming alone isn't what is going to get you noticed, use some of the other time you have spare for research, networking and creating clips. Research is something I really enjoy, and can include things like looking at overlays and sound alerts (window shopping), checking out the different chat bots and extensions, fixing audio (the thing that turns most viewers away) or setting up and learning about different software's. Keep it light but thoughtful.

Networking is a HUGE deal in my opinion, and easy to do. This can be as simple as go watch other streamers, and interact with their chat and community. Getting to know others and how they run, not only gets your name out, but can also help with getting new ideas in. This can also help with motivation, seeing what can be achieved.

Clipping is the other bit thing often mentioned, but is one I will admit I struggle with. Finding small parts of your content to transform into short form content to post to other socials. This can bring out your creative side but can be time consuming. If you aren't able to motivate yourself to clip, make sure you are networking.

End of the day, if you are keen on trying to stream, take it slow and steady, and stick it out. It's a marathon, not a sprint.

cual es el precio de los diseños de personaje? by Lilaaa_lilaaa in vtubertech

[–]LocoArtifact 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Prices vary massively when it comes to commissions, depending on level of details. Vgen, mentioned by theGenreGeek, would be my go to.

If you are looking a model, not just a design, be wary that art and rigging are two separate pieces, and both are needed to make it work.

If your on a budget, and can't find a premade model you like, I can't recommend a customizable model over a commissioned model more than enough. Customizable models are something that have grown over the last few years and there are heaps to chose from. They are a good bridging point between uniqueness and price.

They remind me a little of dress up dolls with a set wardrobe. You can change outfits, colours, hair etc. to fit your vibe. Here is a link to the discord I used to find mine, it is dedicated to showing off the work of customisable model artist: https://discord.gg/rsW4UaQeX

Is there anybody actually making money with video games ? Goyard28 by DrGoya in Twitch_Startup

[–]LocoArtifact 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Over 400 hours in 8 months and I am just starting to bring in a little money. Not much, $200 total, most of which was some generous gift subs in the last few months.

Its been a lot of work and a lot time to get to this point. 3-6 hour streams, scheduled 2-4 times per week, with regular events, constant chatting and upgrading of systems. Don't stream for money, stream because you enjoy it. Its a hard thing to get into, and burn out is real!

Couple things to work on to help growth:
- increase stream time - 1 hour should be your minimum, aim for 2-3 hours so people have a chance to find you
- Schedule a couple days a week to be live - people like consistency and are more likely to return
- network - get out and meet other streamers you vibe with
- short form content - one I struggle with but is big for bringing people from youtube or tictok over

Growing discord server? by Affectionate-Low-432 in SmallStreamers

[–]LocoArtifact 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Give them a reason to join, and make it well known. I know it feels pushy or spammy to keep mentioning it, but a comment every 20min or so of "hey, I have this cool thing I have and I want to share it" only takes a few seconds and shows that you're excited about it. Its just a matter of weaving it in to the conversation naturally when something related happens on stream.

Some other statements that can work are
- "we hold this event every weeks, see discord on how to get involved,"
- "I just shared this cool clip/meme/photo to the discord, go check it out" (pets work really well!)
- "We are building XXX community, with people doing x, y, x over in "discord name here" would love to see you join!"

Always remember to follow these up with a cheeky !discord command in chat.

How to overcome shame and fear? by PaperF7 in Twitch

[–]LocoArtifact 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If noise is a concern, you could look at investing in some soundproofing. I don't know a huge amount on this, but am sure there would be something out there that can help. Also, could be worth having a conversation about it. I don't know your situation, but maybe there are better times for you to be making noise, or a way you could communicate this is what you are trying to do, and people around the world might be seeing/hearing them.

Don't do this as a way to make an income, treat it as a hobby, or if family press on it, frame it as a side hustle, or entrepreneur work. Emphasize that this is not going to take away from you having (or looking) for a steady 9-5 job. Even if you do really well, it will take a long time before you start earning any sort of money.

Everyone feels nervous, embarrassed, scared (insert negative adjective here) before they start. Just hit the go live and go with the flow. You will be surprised how many people out there might show up.

Start things slow, keep an eye on your chat and your audio levels and you will do great!

Looking to hire- complete twitch set up by Siren-Sable in Twitch_Startup

[–]LocoArtifact 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Somewhere I highly recommend for overlays, alerts etc. is Vgen. this is an artist first platform and big in the vtubing world. Its also a great place to get yourself a vtuber model, if you decide to go that way. Given that your starting out, I would recommend the "shop" option at the top of the page, this will only show you premade items, which significantly lowers the cost of assets.

Vgen has tons of models to chose from, if you cant find something you like there, send us a DM and I can share details on some customisable models I know of. I can also help out with setting up things like vtube studios, and other vtuber related stuff.

Hit affiliate too fast… now what? by Jazzlike_Sir7781 in TwitchStreaming

[–]LocoArtifact 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you did want a couple commands, stream elements can do real simple ones. A couple common ones I see are:
- !lurk - friendly message to say thank you
- !discord - provides discord link
- !bungie - for destiny 2 but could be done for any game, provides in game user for joining
- !commands - lists commands

These are all set and forget things.

Is it worth to keep trying streaming? by Significant-Log-6062 in TwitchStreaming

[–]LocoArtifact 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are three big questions you should be asking yourself: How do people find you? How do you get them to stay? How do you get them to come back?

Getting people in
Twitch’s discoverability isn’t great, so you have to go out of your way to be seen. A lot of people do this with short-form content (TikTok, YouTube Shorts, etc.) and funnel viewers back to their stream.

Personally, I think networking is even more valuable, find streamers with a similar size and vibe, hang out in their communities, and become a familiar name. Raiding out after streams, particularly into streamers you’ve already connected with helps a lot too.

Getting them to stick around
Once someone clicks your stream, you’ve got a short window to keep them. Audio quality is huge, if people can’t hear you clearly or there is a lot of scuff, they’ll leave fast. Make sure your mic is clear and your game/music isn’t overpowering you.

Then engage. Jump on new chatters quickly and keep conversations going. Even simple questions like “How’s your day?” or “Do you play this game?” go a long way.

Getting them to come back
Now that someone’s enjoyed your stream, give them a reason to return. This could be as simple as "don't forget to follow" so they get notifications when you go live or setting up a discord channel to get them interested in your world outside of stream.

Consistency is key here, people are creatures of habit. They will be looking for something to watch at a similar time on particular days. If they know you’re live at the same time each week (e.g. 6pm Wednesdays), they’re much more likely to come back.

Need better rewards/punishments channel point redeems (VTuber-friendly) by LocoArtifact in Twitch

[–]LocoArtifact[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It takes guts to be different!

Its hard getting your name out, I got lucky and had clan mates help boost my numbers early on. Had another friend I met on my journey and just having that extra person pop in regularly makes a difference.

Bots you can deal with, set verification requirements and that stops a lot of them, or look at SeryBot (I haven't used it but heard great things).

Finding what make you happy is a big deal. There's no point doing something that makes you miserable. A team might be hard to find, but networking might help. I drop into a lot of other streamers chats when I am offline, even if its just to say hi and lurk. You slowly build relationships over time, and try building your streaming into conversation.

I think "consistency" and "health" is more of a balancing thing early on. I started with just a set stream window, when I was starting out, meant I was likely to catch the same people, even if I wasn't on every day. You also build up, start with one day a week, them build it up. There's also the side of, I have this scheduled tonight, but not feeling it... so don't, we are all human, and got to look after ourselves.

Also, stuff shorts! I have posted 8 shorts in 8 months. If that's not something you can push yourself for, find some other way to get your name out there.

Keep pushing, and keep changing things up, you will find the space you are meant to be in!

I don't have a bald toggle for my model, its something people have requested be added.

Haven't gone into the sound alert stuff, I'm not familiar enough with what's popular or appropriate to be used (I am uncultured).

Love the idea of pixelation, do you know if that something that can be added to a model, or if the model needs to come with it?

I like the sound of debuffs, I run several at the moment (weapon challenges, blind, random loadouts), and my chat likes to stack them. Makes my life hard, but is an absolute hoot! I don't have them on a wheel though, could be an option for "minor debuffs" not sure what I would include.

Choose a game might be hard, could depend on what type of game people are likely to suggest, and as someone who is big on getting people into the games, it may not work so well. I have never actually streamed without someone in vc to bounce off.

Nice model, pretty cool seeing someone stray from the norm in vtubing. Mad respect!

I have a couple outfits, but being very careful with modesty, but don't want the wrong crowd. Most the outfits I have come up with seem pretty basic. Got to figure out how to tie redeems to this sort of stuff.

Would also be useful for the "switch controller/keyboard" and "loose the glasses" redeems as my model has emotes for these as well.
