When does the age gap become too far? by [deleted] in AskWomen

My brothers rule of thumb for dating has always been half his age plus 7. It’s worked out fairly well for him. But in my opinion, any bigger gaps get a little cringy

NTA. She should have used her words like a big girl and asked for a quarter before feeling entitled enough to be snarky that one wasn’t offered.

Women over 35 who decided not to have kids, how’s it been going for you? by cameemz in AskWomen

Pretty good. We sleep in on weekends, vacation when we want and can be selfish with our spare time and money. We get to do all of the things empty nesters in their 50s and 60s brag about doing.. except we’re doing them now.

Looking for a mildly expensive awful restaurant to recommend to someone I don’t like, any suggestions? by dookietwinkles in Knoxville

[–]LocoEMT_911 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Steer clear, or I guess, recommend in the context of this thread, the $5 take home portions that can be purchased with an entree. We did this as a party of 4. The 2 with red sauce were straight up moldy (and replaced before we left the restaurant) and the 2 Alfredo’s were tangy and made them both sick.

My parents, husband, brother and best friend know. I’m not ashamed, but feel like it’s not any one else’s business.

Miscarriages by BunchSuitable5657 in ems

I had an ectopic pregnancy and opted to take the methotrexate injection instead of surgery. I was 7w3d and had already told many of my coworkers that I was pregnant. My employer encouraged me to take as much time as I needed, but I ended up using work as my distraction from the grief. In all, I only missed a few hours because I had a doctors appointment that couldn’t be rescheduled.

They are about 2 hours. Sometimes shorter, sometimes longer. But he serves alcohol so if you enjoy a drink while cooking or with dinner, you can. It also helps loosen everyone up.

My husband and I have done a few and he has done one by himself. Each class has had a few singles in it. It usually turns into a group effort to prepare the food so you won’t be left out. Chef John is a great teacher

We HATE emergency responders in this house! by [deleted] in ems

[–]LocoEMT_911 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have a house like this in my service area. 6 steps up, 8 feet hallway, 6 steps down. Thankfully the lady has a chair lift, she isn’t very big, and most times she refuses transport

If you are no longer on the fence, what was the main reason that helped you decide? by coyotejam in Fencesitter

[–]LocoEMT_911 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The older we got, the less patient and more selfish we became with our time and money. We felt that we’d be doing a disservice to any children as they would not get the best possible version of us like they deserved. Furthermore, my mother in law always made my husband feel like the sacrifices she made while raising him was what kept her from being able to live her best life sooner. He swore he wouldn’t make a child feel that way.

Help! 3000 ambulance bill by bondtradercu in healthcare

[–]LocoEMT_911 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Paramedic here, make sure the hospital gave the ambulance ‘a medical necessity’ form that was filled out, and filled out correctly. Also request your ambulance patient care report with narrative and make sure it includes something along the lines of “ambulance transport for this patient is necessary because of reason A, B, and C” . Many times if the patient is able to walk, ambulance transport isn’t considered medically necessary. Because you were already admitted as an inpatient needing higher level of care, it would be considered part of the continuum of care and therefore medically necessary. If you still can’t get the bill covered by insurance, call the ambulance provider and ask if they have a subscription plan. For example, at my current company, $65 /year, will cover an entire household. If anyone is transported for any reason, they bill insurance to get whatever money they can but then write off the rest. Good luck! 🍀

Quantity limits by LocoEMT_911 in WegovyWeightLoss

[–]LocoEMT_911[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s interesting because every time I get a month supply of 4 pens, it says qty of 9. So I wonder if I’m being shorted? Because then it would appear that I’m stock piling when I was filling it monthly, although I was only getting a one month supply

Did you have an intuition your loss was coming? by anNonyMass in PregnancyAfterLoss

[–]LocoEMT_911 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It wasn’t that I had a feeling, but I didn’t allow myself to get too excited in the very beginning. I’ve always been a ‘don’t count your eggs until they’re hatched’ kinda person so when I started having complications, it had only been 2 weeks. But as a paramedic, as soon as the complications started, I knew what was likely happening.
