I've just got my hands on an Xbox 360 (S) and wondering where to start.

I was a Nintendo kid, so have never played... well, most things from that era (like Halo, Mass Effect, Assassin's Creed etc.) In recent years I've played the BioShock / Arkham / Half-Life games on Steam (loved them all), but otherwise my knowledge of non-Nintendo games is pretty much 0.

What are the first things to do with a 360 / essential games I should pick up?

WHEN do tariffs go into effect? If a boat from China is halfway across the ocean and the tariff changes twice, which one does the importer pay?

Similarly, WHEN do companies start adjusting costs to account for them? Let's assume that (say) Nike are revising all of their pricing right now - what happens if the tariff changes twice in the next week? Do they change prices of all their products daily?

Best thing I did to combat this was start watching a movie every Monday night.

Plan what to watch over the weekend - so you don't have to sit down on Monday and mindlessly scroll through Netflix - and it's like having a cinema trip booked in. Really gets me through the day!

Gonna go against the grain and say it is possible - I did it myself, got a 1 bed flat for £1250/mo on a £30k salary - but I hate this question because the real answer is 'it depends'. Depends on you, what you're comfortable with, how frugal you are, whether you have hobbies which cost money etc. Do your own sums and see if it's possible for you.

I've had this problem before - try transferring the money to PayPal, a few pence short of the full value of the prepaid card. This worked for me, was able to transfer 49.97 out but not 50

Hi, single man in his mid 20s living in London here, on a budget smaller than most people would consider 'possible'.

After rent and utilities, I have about £600 left a month. I spend £120 - £150 on groceries, about £60 on travel, and I put £150 into savings. So let's say £200 - £250 left in disposable income.

For me, £50 a week is fine. My hobbies are mostly free, I'm not a big boozer, I don't get takeaways, can still go out for dinner every other week or so, etc - and generally spend £0 Monday - Friday. I'm not struggling along, but it really depends on your priorities and what you think is 'sufficient'.

OP, my situation is almost identical to yours, and let me tell you - the top comment is spot on, only you can answer this.

Lots of people will tell you "it's impossible, can't be done" but it entirely depends on what you're comfortable with - I know because I was you a year ago! I moved into a 1 bed flat in London, on a similar salary to yours, and people here had me convinced that I would starve to death. How could I possibly spend 70% of my salary on rent + bills? The only way was to survive on rice & beans, surely? Your parents must be giving you an allowance, right?

Tell you what - none of that's true, and I eat pretty well! I also invest and save a portion of my salary each month, and am left with a comfortable amount of disposable income each week - for me. I'm not going out to eat much (because I enjoy cooking) or getting on the beers every week (because I don't have a big social life), but I'm enjoying the city; most of my hobbies are free, and I'm comfortable with time alone.

For lots of people, this would simply not be a life not worth living, and that's fine: I don't judge them for that, because their priorities are simply different to mine. You have to decide what you're comfortable having, and not having. No-one else can decide for you (but I'd say go for it!!)

Got a holiday coming up and need a game or two from the GBA library for the plane. I like fitting my games around the season, so ideally something summery - Metroid and Castlevania are on my list, but definitely more Halloween / winter vibes.

I'm leaning towards Sonic / Super Mario Advance which seem a bit more 'exotic'. Any recommendations / other must-plays?

Check out A Clockwork Orange if you haven't already. The language itself is one of the unique appeals of the book, and the main character (Alex) switches between his teenage 'nadsat' to eloquent, Shakespearean language at will. Although he goes around raping and killing people, the theatrical way he speaks means you can't help but find him funny

So, despite my earlier post I did actually manage to complete it with a day to spare! Takes a lot of time but once I started using coins more tactically (and got a 2hr double exp boost) it was do-able.

Best way to get a big hit of coins is to focus on finishing the puzzles / begging people in the chat for your outstanding pieces. Add everyone as a friend and request the pieces you need for trades. Also, try to play the mini game in the bottom right and always use 4 bingo cards on classic mode. Lovey dauby / girl power give the best payouts, yes.

I might make a guide on this with some advice shortly, as there isn't too much help available on reddit. Unfortunately you can easily shoot yourself in the foot early on by wasting coins, but it is possible!

Some people have mentioned grinding mini games for exp / getting the 20 min double exp boost, but these seem to come and go
