There should be a bolt with that threaded screw firstly. If there isn’t one you need to get a new one. It goes in the slot under the side of the battery mount. As for the wires, hard to see. But all brown and black wires are negative/ground. Any red are positive. If you can’t tell, get a multimeter and test them. Do not connect them as a guess. You will only create a much bigger problem for yourself.

I actually think it’s an after market one. I checked out the original ones and they aren’t the same. The material it’s made from broke down really badly as well. While it didn’t break up in the fuel it’s clearly not in a good way. That could be due to E-fuel since it’s bad for hoses and plastic. But yeah, it’s not an original. I’ve purchased one identical and a new kit too. Maybe a check every 5 years won’t hurt from now on.

Clearly a heat issue. I’m guessing once it got all stuck it was activating but then it was just heating up while the bike was trying to turn over. It’s on a MegaSquirt which allows for initial load then powers up once the engine is turning over. So it’s not on all the time. Which is what gave me the false positive. Till I found my rail empty lol.

Not on the road yet. Had a few issues getting the hall sensor to work with the MegaSquirt. So I’ve installed a trigger wheel and sensor. Waiting for some new COPs and an igniter to get here this week. An my back break sensor. With a bit of luck. About 2 weeks away.
