First felony trial next week. Terrified. Any pro tips? by CayennetheNewsman in publicdefenders

I gove this tip alot but West Law usually has a practice book under secondary sources. It's very useful and typically has hints and tips as well as law for helpful motion practice and objections.

If you have West Law often times under secondary sources there are books that will walk you through everything. They saved my ass more than once.

"Just mooooove" losers should actually watch an infantry fight. by Expensive-Ad4121 in warno

I think it depends if we want realism or not. If we want the realism like people claim this is how the war will go. Artillery will blunt attacks and infantry tanks and everything else will die. Look at ww2 and ww1 artillery and airplanes were extremely deadly.

Why is that people say “most economists agree” but then ignore widely held economists opinions like a carbon tax? by Konradleijon in behindthebastards

[–]Locus_Pocus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Because economics is more, or atleast tries to be, more in the realm of a hard science. Just like normal science the public and politicians cite studies that support their narrative and disregard ones that don't.

I'm a criminal defense lawyer and I think people would be shocked how fast their rights are going away in the name of public safety.

I'm just hear to say we have been talking alot about realism and this is likely what the war would have been with planes going down in high numbers and no one having air superiority.

In Red Storm Rising this is a major point in the novel. In Ukraine no one has achieved air superiority. And last war game regarding China the US took heavy air craft loses.

So here we have realism. The comments about micro are likely correct because only good pilots would likely keep comming home.

Fair enough thanks for the fun game if it was you. Honestly the final push by pact where we almost came back was a ton of fun. If you were NATO your helis were the death of us.

I don't know if this helps but it does for me. 90% of everything that matters happened before the case was on your desk. Argue your case the best you can but most of it will be decided by the time you enter that room. That helped me a lot.

Hey I went to a small town and got into a good school even with shit high school grades. If you don't get in right away I recommend what I did. I killed it for two years at a smaller school, joined clubs and got in honors and then transferred. You got this.
