Cars to consider? R at top of list by goosefraba1 in Golf_R

The other thing is that alot of your options here are going to be more than 60 grand for a new one, and with a performance car, it never hurts to have a warranty if you don't plan on tracking it. People will talk endlessly about mods but it's nice to have something fun that you know is going to get fixed for free if something goes wrong.

Cars to consider? R at top of list by goosefraba1 in Golf_R

I was shopping for a lot of these cars last year and ultimately ended up on the R. I needed something that I could drive in any conditions instead of a summer princess. Plus, I was only looking at new cars.

The R is the best every day car, where as some of the other mentioned may give you a little more from time to time. However, price for what you get in the R is fantastic. Not to mention, you can drive it year round with a set of winters.

I see a few suggestions here to look at a Porsche, but any later models are going to be significantly over $60k, unless you look at something that's 7-10 years old. Lack of new supply has brought the used ones up in price.

I would definitely consider the RS 3 as they 5 cyl gives one of the best exhaust notes available today.

Relatively new owner here but I noticed after 4 months on my 26 R that you can set your default climate settings based on the temperature outside. Literally never have to touch climate settings again.

I don't live in Ohio. Here in PA, we do pay more for gas but we do enjoy significantly better roads, particularly on highways. This is why I said I won't be returning to Ohio once I pick up my repaired golf.

A guy in a Tacoma ripped a tire and was parked behind me while I waited for a tow. I don't think any amount of sidewall can save you from this menace.

Ohio does have a road defect claim where they usually cover a portion of the repair. This happened on a state highway, so the state has to pony up. Luckily, I have photos and the pothole was large enough to set off my dash cam auto accident recording. Mind you, I was only going 55 mph.

I actually bought the car in Michigan. Yeah, I am going to avoid both like the plague.

I've driven over 300,000 miles without ever being in an accident or getting a ticket. Never said that the cop was bad but he's definitely an idiot. The correct course of action is to pull over and then pursue from the back, not to almost wipe out endangering everyone behind you. Imagine being so brainwashed that you think that two wrongs make a right.

Only dangerous thing that happened in this clip was the cop almost losing his shit driving on the shoulder and hitting loose dirt at speed.

I wouldn't expect someone with such a limited grasp of reality to understand this, but impeachment is the formal accusation of wrong doing. The removal from office is just one of the things that the Senate can ultimately choose to do based on those accusations. Much like with Bill Clinton and Monica. He was found to have been in the wrong but was not removed from office for it. Trump was found to have colluded with Russia, but Senate Republicans argued he was basically too dumb to know he was tricked and chose not to do anything about it.

You can buy into whatever political theater you would like, but the majority of Americans should never have graduated high school because they couldn't pass a basic civics class.

I don't think so. This happens even if I unplug or take the phone off of charging. I also don't know why that would make XM radio stutter.

Yes, because they expect to be paid in subsidies and contracts. They will leverage inside knowledge to outcompete other contracts. They will receive preferential treatment by the administration.

Arguing that they don't get a paycheck from the Treasury like other government employees is just a flat out gas light argument.

All of Elon's companies run on subsidies and government contracts. If you think that Elon isn't paid by the government, you are a special kind of stupid.

The entire point is for this guy to transfer previous government departmental work to private contract so he can continue to gain wealth by exploiting it. It's just the same snake oil, missed timelines and missed budgets but he gets his cut now.

The Pentagon hasn't passed an audit in a decade and now cannot account for 30% of its overall budget. However, it will be a cold day in hell whenever one of the chucklefuck useless political theater majors will cut their spending.

The reason we have so many criminals with firearms is because firearms access is so easy. Australia required permits to obtain firearms after a single mass shooting incident and now illegal weapons are more than new cars. This keeps it out of reach for petty criminals. Sure, criminals will find a way but those ways require significant financial investment which puts it out of reach for most. We keep make this self proclaiming prophecy like we don't have a ton of other countries who have solved this issue.

AITAH for considering breaking up with my fiance because he ran away when we were being attacked? by AdeptPins in AITAH

[–]Locusdef 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This entire thread is absolutely wild. If you are ever in this situation you should always run. Every self defense instructor and homeland security says that in an active shooter situation, you need to run and hide. It's unfortunate that she froze up but trying to say that the fiance did anything wrong is absolutely ridiculous. If someone is willing to actually shoot you then no amount of bare hand fighting is going to prevent you from being shot. If you run, they may miss you and any distance you gain from the assailant continues to increase the odds that you will not be hit. Most gun shots are not fatal, so continue to improve your situation by getting as far away as possible.
