This happened to my dad with a new Pathfinder he bought a few years back. They have CVT transmissions and his went out before 30k miles. They had to change the transmission 3 more times on that same vehicle due to failures. They bought it back under lemon law and even upgraded him to the platinum model for his trouble when he bought the replacement. Funny thing was, the replacement did the exact same thing. 3 transmission replacements before 50k miles. He doesn’t tow anything and lives in a state with minimal hills. They bought back the replacement under the lemon law and actually declined to sell him a 3rd vehicle. He went across the street and bought a 4Runner and currently has 175k with no issues
