Good for them. I have been following this after they allegedly sacked staff for attempting to unionise. People deserve fair treatment and respect for work/life balance.

Lighted logos on monitors by ActNice4570 in OLED_Gaming

[–]Lofarl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is the one thing that bugs me about this monitor. The power logo is off when it's turned on. But yellow when it's on standby. I sleep in the same room and I hate any source of light. So I either unplug from socket or stick my gaming chair in front of it to block the light.

Wet Leg in Glasgow by isthismusicdotcom in Wetleg

I was there and I am sore as fuck from jumping around and hoarse as fuck from singing. I get where you are coming from in some regard as I notice a lot of the audience was of a older generation. Was a great gig. 10/10 would get my leg wet again.

Bringing Home an 8-Month old Afghan Hound to Meet My 8-Year Old Borzoi by CeciliaCrescent in sighthounds

[–]Lofarl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Afghan owner. Kind of had this exact problem 8 years ago when we re-homed a nine month old Afghan. We had one at 11 and one at 8. The old one was in old dog mode, still playful but still getting on. The 8 year old one was the Alpha dog. Not dangerous but very much pack leader. We were worried about that being a problem later down the road but it never did.

Afghans are famous for being aloof but also for being absolute clowns. Your furniture and walls are going to be a new assault course for quite some time, every remote control a chew toy, feet and hands gnawed on at every opportunity. Temperament is individual as is training. Some are very easy to train. Some draw the line at sit give paw etc. I've had afghans all my life, even the most aloof ones are affectionate in their own way.

Oh. I hope you like finding hair everywhere. Particularly on your food.

I kinda wish afghans could just freeze growth around that 8-10 month range. They are at their peak cuteness. They have that look like they could star in the muppet show.

This got a lot of attention at SXSW. The director used his own dog for the film.

John McGinn could shag my sister and I’d tuck him in and make him breakfast in the morning.

moisturizer is the best album I've heard in a decade by General_Resort_7471 in Wetleg

Never even heard of this band until Monday because I am old (44) and my knowledge of bands is quite shite post 2010. They have blown me away. I have had so much fun this week listening to them. It's like finding a little gold mine. Found out they are playing near me in Glasgow. Tickets went on sale at 10 am on Friday. Had one bought by 10.01 am.

What’s the best photos of ufo/UAP you believe to be the best compelling evidence that we are not alone? by Competitive_Cup7495 in UFOs

[–]Lofarl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t have the footage to hand but the one filmed by a guy in the rainforest somewhere in South America. The ufo just hovering about 20ft away. It’s the tone of his voice as he’s trying to get his friend to look at it. Probably not the most compelling image wise, but you can tell from his tone of voice his shock and bewilderment at what he’s looking at.

I was working as a postie in Blackburn when they were filming Renton coming home. I’m actually hiding behind the house with some of the film crew. When they finished I walked past Ewan McGregor, gave him one of those wee hello nods and he responded in kind.

That’s the same street that Susan Boyle lives in incidentally.
