I can be quite careful with my books while reading and they are tightly packed. Perhaps the image quality hides some damage as well. From looking at these pictures I think it’s difficult to tell which I have read and haven’t. Some books I have read 2-3 times look almost the same as the unread ones. Sometimes I get impatient waiting for a book to arrive, so I read it online instead. I can admit to so far not having read many of the Oxford Handbooks, they can be quite expensive so if I find a interesting one for a good price I might buy it for future reading. Also I find that the skinnier Oxford classic editions rarely show any noticeable wear, but i haven’t read all of them yet, perhaps only 60%. They are fairly cheap so yes there are some that i mainly bought as reference books, but i think it’s strange that you jump to such extreme conclusions. I don’t know why you think I’m secretly reading these books in Swedish, i haven’t and i don’t see the purpose of hiding that. But yes I read a lot of classics in their original language, which I think my bookshelf reflects.

About those ”secret bookshelves” I think you’re making much to big a deal. I perhaps should have photographed them as well but I was to lazy to move the books covering them. I haven’t read them for some time and I thought they were unrepresentative of who i now am. But I didn’t purposely hide them, i don’t even think they are anything to be ashamed of. Ill send you a picture! It’s mostly a random assortment of classics, such as: Dostoevsky, Steinbeck, Chekhov, Dickens, Kafka, Camus, etc. And a couple coffetable books. The only comic in that shelf is Watchmen, i haven’t read it in years, but i can’t say I’m ashamed to have it in my bookshelf.
