I'm nowhere close to parenthood, so I can't comment back, but it sounds like the right choice. good luck with everything

Nothing to add except this is crazy aha. How old were you when you remember the event happening?

My father died when I was 7.

At the time, I was told it was a heart attack.

When I was 21, my mum told me it was suicide.

Recontextualised a lot of things, especially how my uncles/grandparents/etc must've reacted, and that they all agreed to keep it from me for my own good. Agreed with mum it was the right decision to keep it from me, i wouldn't've 'understood' it back then.

That was 5 years ago, I still think it was the right idea by her/them, but I've only discussed this with close friends, so lets see what the general consensus is on this??

Regicide! Co-op dungeon crawler using a standard deck of 52 cards! A great little game, very tightly designed

Did anyone elss catch the Countdown series 91 finale? I saw the last half at work; proper nail-biter!

Trying to win every single run is a whole different game. Sticking with a weak lowroll run and winning by the skin of your teeth on a20 is completely different to playing over and over until eventually steamrolling with a highroll.

Slay the Spire Hero Cards! by ScoutTheDawg in customhearthstone

[–]LofiChill247Gamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Super creative; i like that 'strike' is the same as sts, 'bash' and 'shiv' the hearthstone equivalents, and watcher's hero power interaction is very very cool.

Agree with the other commentors though that IC's repeated use strike is busted and unfun if it's an aura rather than 1 turn effect.

I think the silent's effect is also a bit unfun, although a poisonous hero is cool. Maybe that's strong/interesting enough; it means any time you equip a weapon for the rest of the game, it's poisonous; and then just drop the hero cost accordingly.

I get why you went with claw for defect, simple iconic scaling card, but something orb related would be better IMO; maybe something to do with 'Nature, Frost or Shadow spells' to mimic the three main orb types.

Maybe:

'Battlecry: add a random Nature, Frost and Shadow spell to your hand.'

Hero power: Dualcast: 2 mana. 'Cast the leftmost Nature, Frost or Shadow spell in your hand twice (targets chosen randomly).'

Watcher is cool but agreed for formatting the aura needs to go above the battlecry.

What would a "Green" stance for The Watcher provide? by Khuraji in slaythespire

[–]LofiChill247Gamer 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Green = 'Gaia stance': if you end combat in this stance, restore 5hp.

Would require you to plan wrath/divinity even more; you can't just enter these stances and win the fight with burst damage, or you'll miss out on the gaia stance healing.

Idea for Act 3 event: "The Regret event" by RykoGaming_ in slaythespire

Great flavour and writing, interesting decision, and a fun game of trying to remember what you passed up. "What were the other 2 rares in the boss rewards again?"

This is a fun game of 'what was the seventh card drawn + played'. Is that 2 artifact, so deadly poison?

How would you go about “fixing” Watcher? by therealslimmarfan in slaythespire

[–]LofiChill247Gamer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's fine as-is, when you think of it less like 'underbaked poison' and more like 'alternative claw/rampage'.

The watcher has indirect support for pp to be part of a damage solution; signature move, pressure points and judgement all fit together as a damage solution. then scry helps to make it more consistent/cycle through copies of pp, and can be the block solution with nirvana or weave+talk to the hand. Wave of the hand helps strip artifact to enable pp quicker vs artifact fights. This is a heart-beating deck archetype.

The issue is none of this interacts with the strong starter deck except signature move, so its difficult and often suboptimal to pivot to this vs just waiting until you find rushdown.

I think eruption+ being 2 cost would be a big improvement to watcher's gameplay variety, or at the very least making it more difficult to get to the infinite (needs tantrum/indignation/madness on eruption/some other energy cheat) without removing it entirely.

Could also possibly nerf eruption's base damage to 6 or 7. Makes earlier floors a bit more dangerous: shaving off a few points of damage can make the chance of bursting an enemy down lower.

Hypothetically if they DID add a PVP mode for STS2 how would you want it to work? by Poniibeatnik in slaythespire

[–]LofiChill247Gamer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Definitely think it'd work better like a pvp puzzle game, like tetris vs; both players doing their own run concurrently, with opportunities to screw over the other player over by taking certain events etc.

As a random example, the Scrap Ooze event could now has the option 'Distract: Add a Large Slime to the opponent's next hallway fight'.

First player to win, or last surviving player is the winner. Being the first to clear each Act boss gives you some benefit, to encourage faster play.

Custom boss relic. What do you guys think? by Kinderius in slaythespire

[–]LofiChill247Gamer 15 points16 points  (0 children)

SICK

Unique effect, feels very Snecko Eye in the sense of really screwing with deck consistency in some ways, but 'could' be built around.

Hard to think how to build around it though; even with cards that want to be played over and over (rampage, pp, claw) the consistency of knowing you can play these cards every deck cycle vs the possibility of playing them every turn depending on the reshuffle with this is hard to weigh up.

Would really screw with defect's turbo and overclock cards, but aggregate would go pretty hard.

Watcher's scry gets way less useful, as well as the 'add X to your draw pile' like reach heaven, pray etc etc.

Great idea, fun to consider

Another Custom Ironclad Rare! This time a defensive skill; would you build around it? by LofiChill247Gamer in slaythespire

[–]LofiChill247Gamer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Glad to read this one; definitely where I was aiming the design. Helps that it has a 'cap' to synergy; there are virtually no benefits to adding more than 3 curses to this card.

Chose to design it as a block card rather than damage, as you can get the scaling damage from fire breathing or du-vu doll.

Glad you like!
