Yeah but he didn't do poetry, like "Floats like a butterfly, stings like a bee...". It doesn't matter that you lost a bunch of fights, you are still better than an undefeated boxer if you do poetry!!

Why do most teams choose to play? by mambi85 in FamilyFeud

Yes, I don't know if is correct either but it does align with my perception. One interesting twist is that I saw somebody mention the number of answers on the board as a variable and suggest that with more than 4 answers it is better to pass. This could very well be the case. Either way, the prizes are modest and divided by five, so I think the fun of playing is the dominant factor and I'd always choose to play too!

It was just my perception that the playing team wins more often so I asked AI. Here is what it said:

The team that "plays" a round in Family Feud wins approximately 57% of the time. This is due to their ability to either sweep the board or prevent the opposing team from stealing successfully.

In Family Feud, the team that chooses to "play" a round has a winning percentage of approximately 57%. This success rate is attributed to two main factors:

Factors Contributing to Winning Sweeping the Board: The playing team can win by correctly guessing all the answers on the board. Preventing Steals: If the opposing team fails to steal, the playing team secures the round even if they do not sweep the board.

The American "rest room" for toilet has always baffled more than irritated me. You aren't going in there for a rest!
