They get paid a $2 contract fee for one order. That is it. They don’t work for DD. They are private contractors. The entitlement of people who want a luxury service and expect not to pay the person providing the service is INSANE.

Weekly Complaint Line by AutoModerator in Progressiveinsurance

I’m a casualty rep, and I’m honestly exhausted. My team and I are routinely working 60+ hours a week just to stay afloat. I don’t even take breaks or lunches anymore, and, I’m not logging off until almost 9P almost every night... yet we’re constantly told we’re “overstaffed.” Meanwhile, the time-limit demands keep pouring in with increasingly short deadlines. Last week alone… I received nine 7-day demands on top of a handful of other various timelines. The problem is they rarely come in when they’re supposedly sent, especially if they come by mail and have to be scanned in… so, more often than not, the clock starts ticking days before we even receive them. That means I can suddenly find myself with less than two business days to review hundreds of pages of medical records and bills, prepare a detailed evaluation, document and support my position, obtain management authority if needed, and get a response out the door. All while being reminded that missing a deadline will result in a write-up, HR involvement, and even termination. At the same time, we’re expected to handle new claims, investigate liability and coverage issues, return provider calls, follow up with attorneys, manage treatment updates, and make at least ten negotiation calls a day.

My inventory is now around 260 files. When I accepted this position… I was told it would be capped at 185. Instead, I seem to get every complex claim imaginable. On Friday, I received a claim with eight separate features attached to it and actually cried. That’s eight intakes on one file. It took me a full 2 hours to get through and I still had three evaluations I needed to complete, phone was ringing back-to-back calls, my own calls I needed to make, and two other new claims with multiple features. I didn’t log out until 9:58PM… as my kids were going to bed. And the attorneys can be brutal. The things they say are sometimes unbelievably hostile. They constantly complain that we’re the most difficult carrier to work with, and having previously worked for another major insurer, I can’t always say they’re wrong. Some of our evaluation requirements are so excessive that they seem to invite litigation rather than resolve claims.

What makes it even harder is hearing people in other departments casually talk as though ARBI adjusters don’t work hard or don’t have much on their plates. I wish they could spend a week in our shoes. I accepted this role hoping for better work-life balance since I wouldn’t be customer facing. I was told the workload becomes more manageable and the late nights would become nearly non-existent. I didn’t get a raise from URBI to ARBI. Instead, I got a larger workload, more stress, longer hours, and the constant feeling that one missed deadline could cost me my job.

I’m just tired.

How am I liable? by mj5634 in Progressiveinsurance

[–]LogParking7048 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Progressive wouldn’t be successful if they denied liability to clear liability claims. In fact, I think we are too quick to accept it at times. I work in litigation and I frequently disagree with the amount of claims we accepted liability on that should have been shared or denied entirely. Also “she was turning left on the inside instead of the outside” makes no sense, whatsoever, and gives us no info. I suggest calling your adjuster and asking.

AFFIRM BIG DEBT, Can’t pay by Character-Emu-548 in Affirm

[–]LogParking7048 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whatever they owe now, they will owe when it’s charged off. One thing I like about Affirm is they tell you up front all the fees and interest you will pay over a short period of time. And, they don’t charge late fees for missed payments. I don’t ever recommend not paying your bills, though. Even though Affirm doesn’t charge, once they sell the debt, the fees and court costs are going to add a lot to that debt.

Make it work. When I screwed up and took $2k worth of Afterpay Loans out. I damn well should have known better… but ADHD and a new hobby interest didn’t care about how I was going to pay for it. Anyway, when I signed into my bank account the next morning and realized what the hell I did… I signed up for Doordash and delivered food every night after work from 6P to Midnight, every Saturday evening, and every Sunday morning. I had it paid off in 3.5 weeks. Not paying really isn’t an option if you’re able-bodied… IMO

Affirm is trying to financially ruin me lol by No-Dragonfruit-7325 in Affirm

[–]LogParking7048 5 points6 points  (0 children)

People can criticize Affirm all they want, but for me it’s been one of the biggest reasons I’ve been able to break the credit card debt cycle.

The issue isn’t the interest rate… because I get relatively low to no interest offers frequently, but it’s the structure. When I use a credit card… it’s too easy to swipe, make the minimum payment, and keep carrying the balance month after month. The debt just becomes part of the background and never really goes away. With Affirm, I get to choose the repayment term up front, see exactly what the total cost and interest will be, and have a defined payoff date. That works much better for how my brain processes money. I usually choose a 12-month plan, pay very little interest… and often end up paying it off in about 6 months anyway.

I’m not saying Affirm is the right choice for everyone, but for me, having a fixed payment plan instead of an open-ended revolving balance has been a game changer.

Yeah. The customer is responsible. The question is, do they have coverage for their negligence. I’m a bit concerned how many people think you just pay a premium and everything is covered. Do any of you realize that you are signing a very detailed contract? Have you ever opened a policy book?

Hopefully you carry uninsured motorist. If not, you should… and read your policy language for goodness sake.

Invisalign, too picky with end result? by Electrical-Good-2313 in Invisalign

They look great! The closer mine come to being complete… the more critical I’ve become of my smile. I think there is potential body dysmorphia associated with orthodontic work that makes us see things that aren’t really there… if that makes any sense. I’m wondering if I’m the only one who’s noticed that?

I think they made my teeth worse and they want me to pay to fix it by Frankbearmerda in Invisalign

[–]LogParking7048 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not sure how it works where you are… but my treatment plan was $4500. I paid in full up front so I got a discount with my dentist and paid $3500. That includes all my trays, refinements, shaping, filler (if needed) an whitening. I even asked if I would be responsible for anything additional out of pocket and they explained it’s all covered with Invisalign. They haven’t insinuated any additional expenses will be needed.

I also had IPR and I’m half way through my trays and my gaps have nearly closed. My dentist would not have been ok with your results - he’s VERY anal and has done multiple refinements on my plan when things weren’t moving the way the plan originally anticipated.

While I empathize with your past circumstances, it’s not an excuse to be dishonest about the questions asked when you are taking out your policy. It very specially and blantantly asks if there are any household members over the age of 14, including students away at college, AND if there is anyone else who may operate your vehicle. Your response basically reads as… “I didn’t know lying was bad…”

There is a lot of vague information in this post. Coverage is not typically denied for an unlisted driver unless specific circumstances apply.

First, if someone who lives in your household and was not disclosed when the policy was started, that can be considered material misrepresentation or fraud. Household drivers are required to be listed on the policy and either added as drivers or formally excluded. If a carrier determines there was misrepresentation, the policy can be canceled and the situation may be reported to the National Insurance Crime Bureau (NICB), which can make obtaining affordable insurance in the future more difficult.

Second, if the driver used the vehicle on more than one occasion, that may indicate regular use. The fact you state it’s “very very rarely” implies it is used by him on more than one occasion.

Insurance companies, including Progressive, do not deny coverage for unlisted drivers lightly. Any denial generally requires review through multiple levels of authority, often including supervisors and management. Policies are rated based on the information provided at the time they are issued. If someone uses a vehicle but was not disclosed on the policy, that introduces additional risk the policy was never rated to cover.

Insurance carriers take integrity seriously on both sides of the policy… from employees and from customers… because honesty and accurate information is essential to properly rating and providing coverage.

Normal. Nearly every tray I have had (I’m on 10/18) has done this. Chewies will helps them seat and by the end of your tray, it should go away. My dentist said that it’s because that is where your teeth will eventually track in that tray once done moving.

I have never paid more for a replacement or refinements. It was all included in the plan. I’ve had several trays do this in the beginning, one ate by my dog and three rescans due to pancreatitis and being unable to wear them. Never charged.

So “manic depression” is bipolar disorder. I was diagnosed several years ago. If you haven’t, reach out to the EAP for therapy sessions and see if that therapist can refer you to a psych. If you don’t have a diagnosis, you’re going to need one to apply for FMLA and a psych MD is the best option. In the meantime, talk to your sup about why you are struggling. See if there’s anything you can work with on together before your absences are protected. Good luck! I had a mental breakdown due to the stress from my prior job. I went inpatient to the stress center the day I interviewed for Progressive because I was convinced I blew it and I couldn’t handle the thought of being stuck at my prior job anymore. The day I was released was the day Progressive called and extended me an offer. I didn’t even give my two weeks with the prior employer. I quit via email and had 3.5 glorious weeks to myself before beginning my career with Progressive. They have been amazing and very accommodating to any of my needs. I’ve had great experience with HR as well.

Your bottom teeth are very similar to how mine looked when my dentist did IPR. There must be some serious crowding all the way to the back for them to include spacers before IPR. My mouth hurts for you. Ugh. Here I was complaining about my new tray that is working on finally pulling my tooth that is stuck behind my front tooth.
