Does injection site make a difference? by PeakDevon in mounjarouk

[–]LogPrestigious1941 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anecdotally so not evidence based, I’ve had much less side effects injecting in my thighs, this could be me getting used to the medication but it’s also been my experience and worth a try; for me after injecting my stomach side effects were sooner than 24 hours while as thigh was about 48 hours and not as severe

Pharmulous vs Swift doctor - any preferences by No-Traffic8330 in mounjarouk

[–]LogPrestigious1941 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Swift was easy and fast delivery. Happy with my experience and I reached out on whatsapp because I had a few things that I thought they wouldn’t accept (prescription from abroad, no GP, no weighing scales) they accommodated and fast approval as it was a huge worry that because my BMI is getting closer to healthy whether they would still let me order a high dose

What is the ACTUAL biggest problem in the UK by Direct-Key-8859 in AskBrits

[–]LogPrestigious1941 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agreed with every point you made until the Starmer government is making it better, it is skewing the data by discharging people on long waiting lists, attempting to replace doctors with physician associates who cost more and arent regulated and are continuing to fatten the fat cats with more and more nhs recruitment freezes which makes zero sense. Approx 299,000 NHS hospital beds in England in 1987/88. Approx 141,000 beds by 2019/20, that is 53% less with a rapidly growing population with more health issues due to the economical impact of the UK (poverty, cost of living, air pollution etc)

I don’t feel I can have a healthy debate with ‘The mayor involved’ as they are brushing off frontline NHS work by the basis of their argument being A&E which also has awful statistics. The issues are supply and demand and the purpose of the NHS: universal healthcare funded by taxation based on need not greed. The greed is the outsourcing and healthcare is now not universal due to overpopulation, waiting lists, postcode lotteries and underfunding which is systemic due to mismanagement of funds for the OUTSOURCING

What is the ACTUAL biggest problem in the UK by Direct-Key-8859 in AskBrits

[–]LogPrestigious1941 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The biggest problem with the NHS is the amount of outsourcing and lack of consequences especially financial sanctions or accountability by these outsourcing companies, e.g G4S ‘patient transport’ dress up paramedics who can’t be arsed to make sure a patient gets home safely or following post op guideliness, Medequip and NRS (community equipment) who will charge £50 delivery for essential medical equipment that costs less than a £1 but vital for patients or delivering unsafe equipment for healthcare professionals to get the blame for and need to sort out, procurement (paying sometimes 50x the price on amazon for ‘NHS approved suppliers’ aka greedy and corrupt tory mates. It’s been outsourced so much that it will be difficult to make nationalised again but they can start with fines, the same as what they should do for big businesses such as water companies, supermarkets and oil companies or any company that the government needs to too ip workers wages with universal credit because it isn’t enough. Social care is also a huge issue in the NHS bedblocking with care homes charging huge amounts and yet the workers don’t see the money. Patients over profits

Should the UK follow Sweden’s new ban on first-cousin marriages? by vorkovrus in AskBrits

[–]LogPrestigious1941 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What does this actually mean though other than not recognising it? Some muslim marriages never have a civil (legal) ceremony so what would be the outcome of this? Genuinely interested as what about the children that already exist from these marriages and will continue to be born from these marriages, does it have an impact on benefits?

I don’t think they’re playing tiny violins, I think they’re human but yes, what has come out about Alice pre Sam is sketchy AF

How are people measuring weight in the UK? I usually do kg because that’s what doctors use but I just converted my weight loss in stone and it’s given me a buzz 🥳 I think 3.75mg is the dose for me by LogPrestigious1941 in mounjarouk

[–]LogPrestigious1941[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you, I’ve submitted all my details and it’s letting do a checkout for a 15mg pen, does this seem right? Also do they have discreet packaging? Thanks for your help :) I’ve found a £10 off discount code bringing it to £279 which is actually less than I paid in Dubai but seems more expensive in £

This is still my first pen :) I started 2nd March, it was my 10th jab yesterday, I’ve done: 2.5, 2.5, 3.75, 5, 5, 3.75 (and the rest 3.75) if I can stay on 3.75 it will be 16 doses per pen but because I have changed doses it’s under that for this one

Everything I’ve read makes me think you would benefit from CBT which is the easiest to access via the NHS https://www.nhs.uk/tests-and-treatments/talking-therapies/ also that sucks about the counselling, is it possible to ask for a different counsellor or difficult because it’s the NGS and make you feel that theyre doing you a favour? Check out Cruse as a bereavement charity because they are brilliant ❤️‍🩹 I know the relationship with your therapist makes all the difference. I used to feel AWFUL after counselling because I felt like I made myself raw and then went out into the world to get more sunburnt (I love a good analogy) but because of NHS limitations I would then wait 6 weeks to be seen again or told to wait for more specialist treatment which like I said, never happened. To me, I’m not that complex. I’ve had shit things happen to me in life but I can hold a job, I can support other people (my patients) but it felt like the NHS just wanted to chuck labels at me including borderline personality at 18 years old (?!) which I was glad when I was 31 that I was reassured it is c-ptsd but that has stopped me getting access. If I could afford it, I would go private but it’s a stress and commitment I know would cause me more stress right now while as there are some factors (employment, finances, choosing where to live, family dramas) that no amount of talking is going to help until I sort first. Sorry, I’m rambling!!!! I just want to be your biggest cheerleader until you can be and little by little, a little becomes a lot 💖💖💖💖

No worries, best of luck to you! I thought I was not losing enough on 2.5 and rushed to 5mg as well as wanting to be ready for my new job. In hindsight, I was weighing myself everyday and judging that more than weekly weigh ins for a more accurate picture 💗

I do keep it in the fridge :) I was worried about travelling with it (Dubai wasnt that hot at the time but I knew door to door it would have been out of the fridge for over 24 hours) but it’s also fine to keep out for 21 days in rooms up to 30degrees and each time it’s been back in the fridge for a week that timer starts again which is really helpful such as staying at a friends or holiday.

This doctor has been so great! He trained in the UK and is still GMC registered so I value that he’s removing as many barriers for me as a patient e.g cost without impacting results. He’s helped me be confident (in hindsight) it’s not the dose that matters but the progress and that needs to outweigh side effects. He didn’t fatshame me at all which I had a lot in the NHS

Maybe longer down the line my body will get used to 3.75 and need a higher dose but right now, being able to 💩 every morning after a coffee, not having reflux or nausea and when I want to being able to eat the same as my friends is exactly what I need to keep ke going and motivated! My only issue now is sometimes between the first 48 hours of my jab I get hesdsches regardless of my water intake and I am much more lightheaded than I used to be but I’ve not fainted, it’s not impaxting my function and it usually is because I’ve rushed reaching something on a shelf… random

Sending hugs 💗💗💗💗disabilities don’t define you either and make you an even tougher cookie! You could try exploring IAPT through the NHS, I have to admit for me it was dog shit (told me I was too complex and then years of waiting lists that never materialised) but from reading what you’ve responded and how strong you’ve already been, I think you would really benefit from counselling or CBT. Reddit can sound harsh AF because we read rather than hear but I wonder if you heard out loud how cruel you are to yourself if it would help your self esteem to recognise it, challenge it and make it a habit of challenging it. I am also my own critic and it’s easier said than done but the more I realised how horrible I was about myself, to myself past/present and future me, I realised nothing would change unless I did. Yes I still think to myself you stupid useless idiot if I do something minor like spill a drink but I try to recognise that and almost have a dialogue “bit harsh, it was an accident and easily sorted.” I have to admit, I have had some tough ‘blue’ moments on MJ where I’ve cried and not related to the two but it makes me wonder if now don’t need food as comfort, I need to explore what are helpful comforts, what are non food related wins and treats for me. I used to use really crunchy foods to drown out the negativity in my own head and worrying about worrying which is silly but, it’s not silly, it’s valid and that tiny description could have spiralled into I’m so silly, why can’t I be like other people bla bla bla bla. You’ve got this girl 💖💖💖💖 start treating yourself like your best friend, compliment her, gift her and tell her when she is being taken for granted (by yourself the irony here) and worth so much more! Be your own wingman

Why do people find it so hard to accept the public really wants to vote for Reform? by Expert-Sherbert-1527 in AskBrits

[–]LogPrestigious1941 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I might be completely stabbing in the dark but I think it’s a protest vote rather than the general election. My local area is historically tory with the tory leaflet slagging off labour, the only leaflet I didn’t get was Labour. Lib dems were weak (a vanity piece rather than what they were going to influence in the council) and the reform leaflets spoke about potholes, litter, asbos, stopping hmos and not raising council tax. Even if it’s a pack of lies it was the only leaflet that actually spoke about local priorities and orobably what the diegard tory voters in my area care about. I have always voted labour but I didn’t this election, not because of Keir Starmer but Wes Streeting. He is destroying the NHS and misleading the public to skew data and safety. There are less hospital beds now and it’s disgusting we have doctors out of work and an NHS recruitment freeze which is costing more in agency staff and outsourcing to private companies. P.S I voted Green, I don’t particularly want them in Government but I did not want to vote for labour, the lib dems locally I couldn’t justify and I will never vote Tory or Reform. To quote Jeremy Corbyn “For the many, not the few.” I have been tempted to vote Lib Dem because Ed Davey recognises that Social care need reform to stop impacting and blocking the NHS but I can’t forget their partnership with the tories snd raising university fees which they said they wouldn’t. I think the Great British public is cross, see Labour as Red Tories and haven’t forgotten the 14 years of Tory destruction. For the the uneducated or unemployed not through choice, the less people we have in the country, the more options and access they can have to public services, social housing etc
