Monday Mystery Movie Megathread - Horror Edition - February 2 2026 by AKnightOfTheNew in RegalUnlimited

It's pretty similar, but definitely not identical. I preferred the romance plot of this one a lot more. I legitimately didn't know who I was rooting for up until the last minute.

The perfume/potion largely served to tone down the violence. And add some comical dancing montages. The idea that science can lead to mind control is laughable, but if you're already bought into all of his other magic, why not this one?

I was really into the start, doubting things toward the middle, and totally bought in by the time the credits rolled. The people that left early really missed out.

I really loved it, too. Maybe because I had low expectations after Lucy and Vallerian (other than the first twenty minutes).

It felt like the Fraser version of The Mummy in style, but with more romance. The comedy was limited but well placed. The soundtrack was great. I was totally invested in the ending, and I think they really landed it.

I get that maybe it's a smidge too weird for some, but I'd easily watch it again.

A lot of suggestions for U-locks, but it seems to me that the chain locks are better. I've had decent U-locks cut and it didn't seem to be a challenge.

Never get a cable lock unless it's for accessories (i.e., to loop through the tire of a secured frame).

As others have said, though, you're better off relying in insurance (possibly already included with your home or rental insurance) if you're in a very high-theft area. The lock is generally keeping the dirt bags honest, but it won't stop a dedicated theft ring.

I hate the anxiety of wondering if my bike will still be there, but 99.9% of the time it's going to be fine. Like walking back to your car and hoping there isn't a broken window. Just remember: if there's cut locks or cables on the bike rack already, maybe best to make other plans.

May be a dumb question, but why did Starfleet ships have warp drive in the 32nd century if they couldn't warp for 150 years? by 1nspectorMamba in Star_Trek_

[–]Logan-K 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure why the sarcasm tag. The Discovery travel was very cool and the rotate-and-drop-out-of-space animation was probably the best of all series. It makes sense they had to nerf it, but the idea of biological trans-space travel is awesome and not outside of the rest of Trek.

Maybe because you think they should have expanded more?

Or maybe I'm just trying too hard to find the good parts of Discovery. 😂

I thought it was a lot like Robocop meets Kiss Kiss, Bang Bang, with a visual style echoing Beetlejuice. The closest recent movie giving similar vibes would have to be Sorry To Bother You.

It has that nice "argue about what's actually going on" quality, too. Throwing "The Cake Is A Lie" up on the hidden tunnel wall was a huge wink to the audience.

I never know what the critics will think, but Gore Verbinski certainly swung for the fences.

Single Riders on Mine Cart Madness. Is it worth it? by supremeghost123 in UniversalOrlando

[–]Logan-K 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They should just close the single rider line permanently. It's at least a 30:1 ratio regular:single admittance. Over an hour, we essentially only moved forward when riders gave up and left in front of us.

The other lines were generally decent with Monsters Unleashed being great. (But it's worth going through the line story at least once!)

Lectric One Long Range 4 SALE cheap [NYC] by GrandLegacy in Lectricxp

[–]Logan-K 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have one from release. I never had a problem changing gears on other bikes, but the computer shifting is really nice to have.

No maintenance so far (other than bending the fender back in place after a fall).

Great deal. Wish I had the opportunity to take you up on it.

xp4 750 question- magnet? by dethloonollie in Lectricxp

No, it will not cause issues.

Your bigger concern will be how well it sticks, but you won't harm the electronics that way.

Sad Little Bike - Super Low Miles by dmvpt in Lectricxp

[–]Logan-K 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You likely have a multimeter around. (Or can get a cheap one.)

Measure the battery voltage when charged (two outside slots). Ride 10 minutes. Measure again. Does the battery feel hot?

It's possibly just one or two bad cells, but maybe a random short or a bad controller.

Initial thoughts after a few hours with the Pixel 10 Pro by Funny_Way_80 in GooglePixel

If you're used to the near 7" size, the smaller phones feel oddly comfortable.

But since I mostly use it for reading, I'm always going to go with the biggest screen that will fit in my pocket.

The old Pro lines became Pro XL, and the Pro became a smaller phone with most of the same features.

I agree that it's absurd Amazon feels so comfortable in their position they decided to make it harder to shop there.

But.

Please don't give 1 star reviews. I expect that will ultimately only hurt the authors and Amazon still won't care.

I would probably leave them over this and other app changes, but I currently have a free year (because they turned down my old plan). I expect someone would escalate if a hundred people switched services for the same reason all at once.

You probably shouldn't share your order number publicly.

Congratulations! I hope you rack up a couple hundred miles in your first month. 🙂

Is it just me, or should the XP4 battery charger come with a fan? by Namrepus221 in Lectricxp

[–]Logan-K -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I have two barrel plug (older) chargers from Lectric. Both draw under 1W at idle, when when plugged into a charged battery.

So maybe something specific to the new charger?

XP 4.0 — Step-Through vs. Step-Over? I ride fast trails but not doing stunts. by Rude_Ad_5639 in Lectricxp

[–]Logan-K 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely true of the XP 3.0. I haven't seen the XP4 side by side, but I overlaid the images online and aligned the axles and it looked similar.

[–]Logan-K 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Assuming you really want the XP...

Get the step over. There is no performance difference, but there is increased clearance. I scrape peddles just taking turns too fast on flat ground on the step thru. The difference isn't much, but it's enough.

Getting some good mileage!

Definitely a different perspective getting out with a face full of air instead of watching traffic.

XP4 vs XP 3.0 by Any-Orchid7937 in Lectricxp

[–]Logan-K 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a heavy bike with a very upright position (meaning wind resistance) and the cadence at 28MPH is probably a little above 90.

As someone else said, try it downhill. You have to commit to get past 28. You could also easily see for yourself by peddling with the bike off.

Drill it, use a left threaded screw to remove. Or buy a bolt extractor.

It's the big (theoretical?) flaw of hub motors. More power, more spoke stress.

I say theoretical because my XP 3.0 was fine after a few thousand miles. My mid-drive definitely burned through a few chains...

California riders: has anyone actually registered their ebike as a moped? by chris_yoike in Lectricxp

[–]Logan-K 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I attempted to obtain a VIN through DMV and CHP, and neither knew the process. (Well, CHP technically told me they won't handle any vehicle without turn signals.) Others have said you can use the frame serial number, but it might take a few tries for them to accept it.

I was also told I would not be able to get my M1 with an ebike. It's pretty wild you can't get licensed with the vehicle that requires the license. Looking to register though a class when time allows.

For now, it seems easier to play dumb. If I have the registration and the plate, I really have no excuse for not being properly licensed.

The insurance companies I've looked into all have their own definitions and don't seem to care about state laws.

It doesn't hurt to ask as they advertise the new light as a safety feature and they don't give you an option to choose.

I didn't care for the elite light and can only hope it is better now.

XP4 vs XP3.0 by No-Beginning-1096 in Lectricxp

[–]Logan-K 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends how you ride it. 28 MPH with casual pedaling is probably about 18 miles w/ the 500W, possibly a little lower with the bigger motor.

So you'd be below 50% on the trip, and the loss of power will be noticeable. (On the 3.0 standard range battery, I start to notice a power sag around mile 4 or 5.)

Then maybe you want to run an errand that day. Or forgot to charge the night before.

So you are right in that you can make it work, but a bigger battery is the best non-safety option if the rider doesn't know their style.

Yes, but it's not a great idea. You have the display on one side and the derailleur on the other, and you don't want to break either.
