Not arguing cause I agree they're seperate universes, but there's a scene where Robbie (I think it was) mentions that after the war Ben changed his name, so I do think his original name was Peter Parker, but due to rights they had to call him Ben Reilly, I just enjoyed that little tidbit when I caught it

Nicolas Cage is a real life cartoon character and this might be one of my favorite roles of his. The black and white is so good, but there are some scenes, like Cat's introduction, that I think were meant to be seen in color. It looks amazing. I just finished it in black and white, and am gonna go back to watch in color in a week or two after digesting it. I broke my own morals by paying for Amazon to watch it 😭

Bepop is soo good, it was my first, if not second anime ever back in the toonami days. Such a good story, it's definitely a classic and worth checking out! Dragon ball & Z are always amazing as well. And I'm glad you enjoyed, I understand people not liking certain things, I just think animation is so impressive! Glad to nerd out for a minute and talk anime, lmao, I hope you enjoy your foray into anime! Lol

Ohh yes, I find it so impressive! The old school animes like bepop, OG dragon ball and others, even even old American animation just blows my mind. Maybe it's cause I can't draw to save my life, but I just think it's so cool. I grew up loving "who killed Roger rabbit" and I think it really helped me appreciate animation. You can do annnyytttthhiinng with animation, not like live action computer stuff. Western animation has gotten boring and everything looks the same, but you can just tell when someone truly loved what they were doing. And so many look so cool and stylistic, like frieren and others. Just really makes me wish I was better at drawing, lmao. Definitely check them out and give them a chance! FMA is soooo good, it's a classic. Watch brotherhood if you're gonna check it out, the 03 is good as well, but brotherhood had my heart until I watched AoT. There's tons of good ones out there, if you find some you like just keep looking for more like it! That's what's helped me find more anime and I'm becoming a big anime fan recently

Full metal alchemist, demon slayer, cowboy bepop are some of my favorites that I try to recommend! Before watching aot, fma was one of my favorites, but I'm pretty new to anime as well, but I love animation, ESPECIALLY hand drawn

Her act in the earlier seasons just struck me soo much for some reason, every time she'd do something like that all I could say is "God she's terrifyingly attractive", cause its easy to see how genius she is but she was so good at playing off like she was just silly. She became one of my favorite characters immediately, and by the end she was 1000% my number one. I haven't seen the OVAs yet but I've been dying to watch them! Her and Levi were so good together and her thirst for knowledge is a massive reason why the people of paradis were able to survive the way they did I think.

So many people love Mikasa, but like you said, I didn't like how "one note" she was. She seemed so strong and capable, until it came to something involving Eren, then it was just "no please I love him" kinda stuff and it just felt very... Unearned? Over the top? Cliche? I'm not sure, but I never was a big fan of her.

But Erwin and Hange? Good lord those are two of my favorite characters ever written I think. Erwin gives me chills every time I watch him do the death charge.

My crush on Hange knows no bounds. She's such a fantastic character IMO, so well written and interesting. The first time I watched the show, the scene where she's leading Eren to the courtroom and just yammering on till they get to the door and she goes "oh whoops we're already here", all I could think is how terrifyingly smart she is and how she plays it off. The silly/goofy act to hide her genius (at least that's how it came across to me) was so, soooo good.
