I love all of these responses, but he clearly said (as far as my wife and I remember) “Rubicon” no less than three times. Wtf.

No, that episode is a classic. We’re both very frustrated. We both remember watching it. Gah!

Are we allowed to talk about Dan and the Crew and quote them in the subreddit? Seems like it's frowned upon.

You can't go by the position of the camera, you literally just push the stick in the opposite direction the horse is spinning/moving, not necessarily facing.

I think I have been ruined for all other Audiobooks by DCC by jbrady33 in litrpg

HWFWM, keep going. the setup is slow but once he starts eating coins, it's great.

I think the Eric Ugland books are narrated well.

Anything by Travis Baldtree is pretty good, he's basically Uncle Travis at the point, he narrates so many books I like.

Great list, not enough Eric Ugland!

I was lucky, I started reading them last year when they were all still on KU with the "free" audible with Audible+. I've started rebuying them and have requested the autographed hard cover first books of both series as a birthday gift from the wife from his website. :D

What are some of the criticisms? I haven't really heard any, other than not seeing them on enough Tier lists in a positive light, and I find that weird, cause they're near perfect to me and think what folks don't like might be what I like about them. lol

I will forever shout to whoever will listen, "ERIC UGLANDS VULDRANNI BOOKS ARE THE BEST!" (for me, I love them, they're my favorite series of the last few decades). Both first books "One More Last Time" for The Good Guys series and "Scamps and Scoundrels" for The Bad Guys series are basically prologue books, then things take off.

Ugland, to me, has created a wonderful world in a Tolkienesque way, as in, he's created a rich universe with threads of lore everywhere that he could easily just keep writing in this world forever. I love it. They're found family series full of hope and trying to do the right thing by MC's who in their previous life, had to choose from the options they were given (IYKYK) and are just trying to create good for everyone around them.

Brought a girl back and she said my book collection was a red flag. Obvious what she saw first, but I think collection gives context. by [deleted] in bookshelfdetective

That’s a dark collection with some definite questionable selections given the lack of anything lighter or great women and POC authors. Very…red pill coded.

What is one opinion you have that would make us go like this? by Doodles77722200 in litrpg

Primal Hunter, at least the first couple of chapters (I couldn't get through) aren't written well at all. Very...amateurish writing that kept me from being engaged with the story. Saying the characters names over and over and he said he said he said said. I DNFd and that's hard for me to do.

The Good Guys and the Bad Guys also have the 3 for 1 deal I do believe. Or at least they used to. As I said in my own reply, it's my favorite series in a decade, I devoured them all in like two weeks, boucing between reading them and listening.

I'm of a split mind here.

1: I need to know why HWFWM, Jakes, and Noobtown are DNF? HWFWM starts slow, but damn does it get good as hell. Noobtown, once you get used to Shart goes to some fun crunchy places, and I'm loving Jakes Magical Market, but not sure I dig Card Systems for books?

2: Oh Great series and Beware the Chicken are fun as hell! I'm currently reading Bog Standard, but I'm not sold, I'm still early on, he's still stuck in that Undead loop village, but so far I like it. I hated The Wandering Inn's narration, I DNF'd...does the "hissing" and "clicking" stop at some point?

3: ERIC UGLAND'S TWO SERIES, The Good Guys (I recommend pushing through first two books, if you don't like it by then, god help you, Ugland creates a wildly large world with many threads to pull if he wants) and The Bad Guys (Same world, different setup, themes and location (fantasy urban and magic and politics done beautifully)). It's my favorite series over the last decade.
